Objective

I am a self-motivated, ambitious, out going, and hard working person with a desire for knowledge, who is seeking a new challenging and exciting position. Over the years I have aquired and sharpened many skills, some of them include: problem solving, multitasking, efficency, and prioritizing in a fast paced or stressful environment. These skills have been necessary especially in my current position as a lead medical lab scientist.

In recent years I have been faced with many obsticles, both personally and professionally, in which I have tried reflect on each situation and turn each obsticle into a leaning opportunity to reach my true potential. I do enjoy motivating and collaborating with others and believe a company can achieve great things when it’s employees are allowed to do so. I have built a solid foundation in the lab both in a specialized section and being a generalist for several years and believe I am a well rounded tech and ability to be a great leader in the future.

Responsibilities

·Serving as a generalist in all of the areas in this lab (including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, manual testing, and blood bank), Liat molecular testing which included running QC (and troubleshooting) and patients

·Perform root cause analysis to improve quality and laboratory processes including procedural changes

·Performing internal lab audits within the lab and with hospital staff as well

·Teach, guide, and advise techs, students, or CLA’s to make educated decisions with patient testing or machine troubleshooting as well as complex and difficult testing especially in hematology that requires special knowledge

·Strive to improve efficiency as well as quality by process improvement and implementation of new workflow ideas.

·Apply knowledge from policys and procedures from reulatory/accrediting agencies while assuring complience in daily workflow

·Run and analyze QC at least every 8 hours in most of the areas of the lab

·Serving as a generalist when needed in all of the areas in this lab (including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, manual testing, and blood bank)

·Also helped front end staff answer phones, or receive specimens when needed

·Analyzing, troubleshooting, and reporting values to the hospital and oncology doctors and nurses

·Answered doctors, nurses, clients, and coworkers questions and calls

·Perform internal lab audits and hospital audits with nursing staff

·Assisting in making competencies

·Key operator of hematology department (included in validating and implementation of the machine, trainer, going to monthly meetings, calibration, reviewing monthly QC and maintenance, creating monthly quality reports, creating quizzes, ect). Performed complete validation and brought up synovial fluids on the hematology instrument. Was included on initial validation of the XN’s and building rules in WAM and testing. Put together monthly roll-up section summary’s for the supervisor. Keep a look out for trends. Also inventory management.

·I have also done a study in 2016 for Sysmex to compare a new hematology analyzer to our current hematology analyzer and another version of another older analyzer (XN550 XN 10, XS),. This includes acquiring samples, preparing them, analyzing them on all 3 analyzers, gather the data, doing differentials and preparing them for others to do.
