- Exceeded project goals for managing the health care delivery system of over fifteen hundred urban recognized refugees and asylum seekers at three Caritas clinic locations, in cooperation with several other partner institutions and service providers.

- Prepared, organized, implemented, and evaluated weekly health education activities which dramatically led to increased health outcomes and increased health awareness among project beneficiaries.

- Provided effective financial management and control over sub-project funds which led to serving more beneficiaries and increasing the quality of health care provided.

- Secured additional funding from USAID and family health international to conduct numerous health education activities and provide refugees with transportation incentives.

- Built cooperative working relationships between Caritas management and UNHCR management teams which strengthened quality of care delivered to refugees.

- Assisted Caritas management by designing and implementing administrative procedures to reduce redundancy, streamline processes, secure more funding, and improve daily operations.

- Conducted a community/participatory assessment through structured dialogue with refugee women, men, girls and boys, including adolescents, to gather accurate data on their health needs, the specific protection risks they face, their capacities and resources. Met with appropriate staff from UNHCR and its partners (i.e. Mizan for legal issues, and CARE for kind assistance and other vocational training), presented my findings, and proposed solutions. Submitted findings at the planning meeting which prepares the annual Country Operations Plan (COP) for submission to UNHCR Headquarters.

- Developed a questionnaire on key risk factors that mostly impact the refugee population’s health and well being in order to improve lifestyle areas in which refugees have great potential for behavioural change. The questionnaire collected data on health perceptions, medical conditions, health literacy and medications taken, risk factors both medical and lifestyle, and readiness to change. Survey results were reported to UNHCR and I set up a plan for my monthly awareness activities targeting my beneficiaries, as I decided which pressing issues to address first, the need to bring in volunteer guest speakers to specific health awareness events, and when and how to contact donors for health awareness funding.

- By providing heightened health awareness training and education, the project helped facilitate the ability of families to make changes in their diets, personal habits and lifestyles which allowed them to enjoy better health and helped them avoid becoming ill. We also witnessed how refugees were able to recognize the signs and symptoms of health problems and illnesses when they occurred and knew where to turn for help.

- Eventually, the success of the project allowed for increased headquarter funding and the expansion of project beneficiary eligibility as well.
