****-******* ************ ********, ************, Pa. Specific Duties- As a unit secretary I play a key role in managing patient information and providing clerical support to the health care team. I am responsible for maintaining the accuracy and security of confidential patient health records. I manage paperwork such as patient history forms, consent forms, admissions, and discharge documents. I also perform receptionist duties, order supplies, answer telephones, and call bell to communicate the needs of the patients, family members, and physicians to the R.N. and patient care technicians. 1997-2016 Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa. Specific Duties - As a patient care technician I assist the R.N. in the medical treatment of patients with various illnesses. My duties consist of introducing myself to patients and briefly explaining that my position is to aid the Doctors’ and R.N. in providing for their care. Duties consist of monitoring vital signs, and glucose levels, as well as phlebotomy and administering ekgs’. In addition to providing emotional support to the patients and often time their families; I provide when necessary for patient’s personal needs which includes setting up meals and feedings, bathing especially the bed ridden, changing dirty and soiled linen, and the diapers of patients who are incontinent. I also assist patients who blind and or hearing impaired oftentimes on 1:1 supervision as a safety precaution, additional 1:1 supervision provided for patients with suicidal ideation. Oral hygiene, including denture care, shaving and general grooming as requested. The first two years of employment was at The Institute of Pennsylvania Hospital as psychiatric technician.

1991-1995 Charter Fairmount Institute, Roxborough, Pa As a psychiatric technician I assisted specifically adolescent patients with activities of daily living. I accompanied these patients, or groups of patients off the unit for activities, tests, or trips. My duties consisted of assisting in admissions, treatment procedures, and discharges. I assisted the adjunctive therapist in activities. Restrained or secluded patients, under 1:1 supervision. I participated daily as part of a treatment team, planning with nursing and medical staff appropriate plans of action, which included charting. I attended community meetings and communicated with assigned patients and families as necessary. Performed other related duties required including unit security.

As program manager I was the therapist for the advanced clientele devising aftercare planning which included job placement and housing. I also prepared and monitored the program budget and personal accounts of clients, coordinated medical appointments and follow-up therapy, planned recreational activities as well as facilitated in the maintenance of a home-like milieu.

2017-2022 Rutgers State University, Online New Brunswick NJ. As a part-time student in pursuing a MSW on track to graduate spring of 2022 with a certification for Violence Against and Children.

Honors While attending Argosy University I have been on the Honor’s List on two occasions in 2016, the President’s List with a GPA of 4.0 in 2016 as well.
