DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
COMPANY NURSE:
Provide and meet the basic health care needs of employees.
Promote health and disease prevention.
Implement and design programs of health promotion.
Assist employees in dealing with illness.
Will assess employees' medical conditions and make appropriate referrals/consultation to the local medical facilities.
Attend to all First Aid cases, injuries requiring medical treatment and other medical emergencies.
Will provide direct patient care -- recording, assessing and observing patient's progress, reactions and symptoms.
Maintain acceptable level of health and hygiene with in the site.
Function as health educator and advocate for employees thru health education program.
Liaison with health organizations, hospitals and physicians.
Conduct hospital visits to admitted employees and make daily progress notes.
Conduct and actively participate in health care promotion and coordinate with the Project Safety Manager for implementation of Non Accident program.
Conduct basic CPR/First aid Training as directed by Project Safety Manager.
ER/AMBULANCE NURSE
Assists in performing life saving measures such as code blue, CPR, control of haemorrhage and other emergency measures.
Takes and records vital signs.
Assist in endo-tracheal tube insertion.
Perform manual ambu-bagging for patients requiring continuous artificial respiration.
Initiate cardiac pulmonary respiration as the situation requires.
Perform venipuncture as directed by the physician for the purposes of;
initiating IV therapy
administering medications directly to the vein.
Withdrawing blood specimen for laboratory test.
Render endo-tracheal / oral suctioning.
Perform foley bag catheter insertion, condom or straight catheterization.
Perform naso-gastric tube insertion.
Operate electronic / mechanical equipment such as;
Mechanical Ventilator
Nebulizer
Defibrillator
Pulse Oximeter
Syringe Pump
Infusion Pump
ECG Machine
Assist in minor surgical/ special procedures performed
in the unit such as;
Cutdown
Lumbar tap
CVP insertion
Penile Cavernosal Doppler
Debridement and suturing
Chest tube insertion
Ultrasound
Uroflow
Records / document all procedures and nursing measures, treatment done to the patient.
Provides comfort to the patient. Attends to the physiological, emotional spiritual needs of the patient.
Ensures that equipments are in good working condition and report any malfunctioning equipment for repair.
Does inventory of all emergency drugs, supplies and instruments every shift and report deficiencies for replacement.
Provide safe and clean environment for the patient by
supervising proper housekeeping.
