Primary knowledge is based on production systems for document creation and presentation. Skills have been focused on commercial operating systems, document creation and distribution software for applications generating high volume direct mail, billing statements and reports for the past 25 years. Performing program development on various projects including financial, utility and government statements. Supported production and maintenance for existing applications. Helped and instructed programming staff with complex GMC statements, sometimes requiring conversions from Exstream and other statement composition software. Provided formal training to new employees.

GMC Programmer PCI Group, Inc. June 2015 to Aug 2015

Programming letters and statements for clients of PCI Group. Various net new specialized letter and statement applications developed for high volume presort USPS mail and web. Program maintenance performed for existing clients including the addition of Spanish versions of correspondence, data fields and letter selection logic. Most output print streams are full color PDF and input files utilized xml.

GMC Programmer Harte Hanks Direct Marketing, LLC Feb 2015 to May 2015

Programming letters, postcards and statements for clients of Harte Hankes. Produced proof PDF files for daily job assignments and production reports to operations. Performed problem identification, analysis and resolution for all application issues. Provided technical support and programming guidance for the conversion of Exstream Dialogue applications to GMC Inspire work flows. Expedited the completion of long term development that lead to billable production. Formally trained onsite programming staff new to the GMC Inspire development environment and performed job skills transfer to staff with more experience.

Senior Consultant JH Digital Solutions, LLC May 2011 to Nov 2014

Formed S-Corporation to contract directly with AXIS, Inc. Orlando, FL.. Developed many projects requiring conversion from legacy systems. Created documented standards for application conversions and developed a two tier formal training program for existing and new programming staff. Overall production program execution times significantly decreased which allowed more capacity for growth. Various net new, specialized transactional applications were developed. AXIS, Inc. Orlando was purchased by Cathedral Corp. in May, 2014.

Senior Consultant VACO November 2010 to May 2011

Sub-contract with AXIS, Inc. Orlando, FL. Client had purchased GMC Printnet T software. Developed complex transactional banking statements for pre-sort USPS and web. Input data was xml and output for hardcopy was PostScript that contained variable sheet pulls with spot color. Softcopy PDF output for web and archive utilized bookmark indices and variable color. Additional responsibilities included job skills transfer, new user training and production support.

All project objectives were met and exceeded at times without delay. Awarded Consultant of the First Quarter 2011.

Senior Consultant Rose International January 2010 to August 2010

Sub-contract with Wells Fargo Bank. Projects include developing applications for monthly and daily statements. Design environment was H P Exstream software running on a remote server using an SQL database. Production engines ran on a pool of IBM ZOS systems. Other duties include customer correspondence through the creation of letters.

Senior Consultant Avantias Inc. - July 2008 to March 2009

Consulting to Avantias customers in the US supporting Exstream Dailogue and GMC PrintNet T. The clients where in the Direct Mail business (approximately 500 employees) and used Intel based Microsoft Systems. Primary assignments included development of credit reports and year-end summaries. The credit report applications, approximately 80, consisted of snap packs, miscellaneous letters, inquiries and booklets. Input was sectioned XML with a schema supporting all of these mail types. Reports included dynamic image, dynamic tables and dynamic charts for both single and triple bureau credit reports.

The process for these reports was broken out into two steps. The first pass was used to determine page counts recorded to a flat file. The flat file was split for the various page counts into laser lots. The second pass generated AFP for continuous and PDF for cut sheet printers. Year-end summaries contained approximately 15 language layers to support hotel club points distributed worldwide.

Performed some software maintenance tasks and on the job skills transfer to client’s programming staff. One task included converting black and white on pre-printed color forms to full color, supporting short runs for reprints. Another task included adding Dialogue search keys to support an inline staple device on a Xerox cut sheet for variable page booklets. Provided formal training to developers not familiar to Dialogue and explained applications to Junior Developers one on one.

Consulting to GMC’s clients throughout North America. Work included onsite application design, development, delivery and skills transfer. Taught formal PrintNet T Basic, PrintNet T Advanced and WebProof.
