It was very intensive training for 2 years with a 1 month break during the summer of the 2nd year of study. All together, we probably obtained a minimum of 60 credit hours if not more. After graduating with a certificate diploma, we also had to take a national certification to * AART to become registered as a certified Radiographer. Today, after completing the same program, the graduates get an Associates of Radiolologic Science degree. But when I went to school, it was called a certificate diploma.

We also had to learn how to address Doctors, nurses, vendors, and patients which I consider customer service skills.we were known as ARRT (R) which stands for American Registry of Radiologic Tecnologists. The (R) stands for registered.

Learning how to use the CT machines. starting IV sites on patients in order to ingect IV contrast material into a vein in the patients arms. Received a special national certification in Computed Tomography through ARRT. My title then became ARRT(R)CT

We then had to start taking continuing education hours to keep our license up to date. We had to have 24 credits every 2 years to keep our credentials.
