Job Description
Assign duties to the farm workers in order to ensure that all the work is done satisfactorily as per the instructions of the farm manager.
Supervise the activities of the workers engaged in milking, breeding and cattle rearing and coordinate the veterinary duties of the dairy farm.
Assign workers to feed and milking of the cows, clean the cows, clean the equipment and take care of their health.
Inspect the barn and milking parlors for cleanliness and maintenance, and inform the workers of the measures required to ensure compliance with established standards.
Study feed and milk reports and inform workers of dietary changes to obtain maximum milk yield.
Studies growth, and health records and sets schedules for breeding, vaccination, and horn removal.
Coordinating veterinary services for examination and calving of cattle for evidence of illness, injury, and care for serious injuries.
Knowledge on proper book keeping and maintain records on inventory for store management and part of the day-to-day work schedule involved farm store keeping and records keeping to ensure proper management.
Study farm health records to schedule activities such as breeding, scheduled vaccination programs, and removal of cattle horns. Assist the veterinarian surgeon to examine cattle for evidence of illness, or injury, and to care for serious injuries and diseases.
