Laszlo Selly was born in Budapest, Hungary.
At the age of 14 he entered Art School and started Apprenticing with one of the best portrait photographers in Budapest. After graduation he worked briefly in Hungary until the 1956 Hungarian Revolution, at which time he escaped from Communist Hungary and emigrated to the United States.
Once in New York he started learning English and worked as a Dark Room technician for several years.(Hoffman Labs.)
After becoming sufficient in English he worked as a Portrait Photographer for Lorstan Studios.
After securing a new job he became second assistant in a Commercial Photo Studio (Midori Studio) Shortly after he advanced to become first assistant in another commercial studio.( Joe Singer Studios). After 6 years in that position he opened his own studio and had a forty year career in Commercial Photography. He retired to Florida where he continued taking photos and kept up with the latest Digital Techniques.
He would be a great addition to any photographic team.
