Director of Development and Communications
This position reports to the General Manager of the WOUB Center for Public Broadcasting, a department within the Scripps College of Communication. Director of Development and Communications oversees all fundraising, events, public relations and information regarding donor activity, customer service,volunteer solicitation, problem resolution and donor communications activities.
Position responsibilities:
Supervise development staff plus various student employees.
Create annual development plan incorporating new fundraising activities, including web development, social networking, twitter and expanded business support.
Insure compliance with Ohio University, FCC and Public Broadcasting fundraising regulations.
Communicate fundraising regulations with WOUB staff.
Insure and communicate compliance with Ohio University regulations regarding fundraising activities, procurement, and other regulations with the Advancement division of Ohio University.
Build alumni donor and volunteer base.
Identify and cultivate potential donors.
Plan and facilitate events including donor and community engagement activities.
Write donor correspondence – donor acknowledgement, direct mail renewal, additional gifts, lapsed and acquisition campaigns.
Script messaging for TV and radio live on-air membership campaigns, taped interstitial messaging, direct mail, and telemarketing.
Produce on-air campaigns for TV and Radio including volunteer coordination, incentives, and business collaborations.
Develops all campaign goals, monitor, and adjust activities to meet goals.

MAC administers the Head Start, LIHEAP, CSBG, USDA and other public assistance programs for Davidson County, Tennessee. MAC had a very diverse staff of 150 full and part-time employees serving a diverse community.
