WORK HISTORY Customer Service Giant Eagle - Indiana 02/1990 - 11/2019 Hired on a part-time basis in the Prepared Foods Department to subsidize my income from my full-time job at Ocenco My duties also included the Seafood Department and Service Meat, providing customers with a welcoming smile and a sincere thank you for their purchase
I used my computer skills to update information in our scales and designed forms that were used for ordering products, keeping track of inventory on hand, and scheduling employees
I totally redesigned the Product Lookup Information on the scales in Prepared Foods, making it more efficient for everyone in the department
In April 1993, I began full-time employment when Ocenco relocated to Kenosha, Wisconsin
In May 1994, I began splitting my time between Prepared Foods and the Bakery when one of the employees in the latter department retired
I maintained specific office skills by taking orders over the phone, placing orders to restock products, taking a monthly inventory, and keeping track of expiration dates
In 1997, I transferred permanently to the Meat Department when another employee retired
In this department, I wrapped many different cuts of meat, stocked retail cases, serviced our customers with a smile and was responsible for our waste management program
Our store expanded and in November 2010, I joined my co-workers at the new store
I was trained on the new scales and the automatic wrapper which I became proficient at running
Additional responsibilities for me included stocking the lunchmeat case, checking for expiration dates, taking inventory, preparing a variety of food items for the Service Meat Case, and breaking down the pallets that came in daily with our order from the warehouse in 2019, it was suggested by upper management that I retire because of an issue I was having with my balance
They felt it would be too dangerous for me to continue working around sharp knives and the bone and band saws located in this department
So, on November 7, 2019, I ended 31 years of service. Data Entry Clerk Ocenco, Inc - Blairsville, PA 10/1988 - 03/1993 I was hired as a Data Entry Clerk and was responsible for processing sales and purchases from the daily shippers and receivers to provide management with necessary inventory information for future ordering Developed a more efficient way to process outgoing requisitions and incoming purchase orders
Created specialized reports to track raw material usage Became a permanent employee in March 1989 when I was promoted to Inventory Control Specialist
At this time, I worked closely with the Vice President of Ocenco, Richard VanDerveer, and the Quality Control Manager, Gary McCullough, to maintain inventory levels
Ocenco was a company that made emergency breathing apparatuses for underground mining and parts to construct the long walls also used in that industry
Revised and updated the Master Parts List used by office personnel and management to show correct costs, descriptions of each part, and where they were last purchased for ease in restocking procedures
Worked with the Engineering Department to develop Bills of Materials for the equipment built in house
Assigned new part numbers when needed using a specific format to calculate the 6-digit figure needed
Calculated monthly inventory reports for our corporate office in Kenosha, Wisconsin
Determined the dollar value of work-in-process, work on consignment and at Outside Vendors using information obtained from the daily shippers and receivers
I would still be with this company had they not relocated to Kenosha, Wisconsin
I was not willing to leave Pennsylvania again
In conclusion, I'd like to add that I moved to Seattle, Washington in 1981 and remained there until my father passed away in 1987 Two CPA firms employed me during this time
The first one was with Mark Anderson and Associates from August 1981 until July 1984
I left that firm when Anderson, McMaster, and Associates were looking for someone to help prepare the Financial Statements for their clients This involved balancing checkbooks using the information provided by the client
I also had to verify their payroll records and previous year's tax returns when necessary to prepare their Payroll Tax and Excise tax reports Interacted with the tax partner assisting her with the bookkeeping needed to prepare a client's income tax return
I left this employment in 1987 to return to Pennsylvania. EDUCATION Richland High School, Johnstown, PA 06/1968 High School Diploma
