Progressive Roles: HR/HSE Manager, Director HR, VP HR
Development and implementation of a solid and compliant HR / HSE department for this aerospace company. Monitored employment programs to ensure workplace efficiency, quality, safety, and ethical working conditions. Implemented safety and environmental compliance through employee training programs. Responsible for downsizing and managing a RIF post 911; successfully maintained our qualified staff during period of economic downturn.
Managed HR / Payroll for 4 manufacturing facilities in US and Canada, 6 domestic distribution centers, and 2 European distribution centers with approximately 700 employees. Member of labor negotiations team handling arbitration hearings and 2nd step grievances. Senior member of extended team that created and implemented a global HRIS / Payroll system.
Provided support for C-level management, oversight of HR Managers for 8 domestic / international manufacturing facilities (union / non-union), 6 domestic distribution centers, and 2 international distribution centers located in Europe and Canada. Restructured HR from an administration department into one of a business partner. Approximately 1500 employees. Focus was on employee relations, succession planning, talent management, compensation banding. Company initially operated autonomously and functioned as stand-alone sites; responsible for executing the new mission of centralizing and standardizing policies and procedures throughout the organization to align. Led the efforts for the transition to a unified and consistently branded culture by partnering with the prior owners / management of the many small companies acquired over the years.
