I am submitting my resume in letter form so that I can provide a clear picture of my diversified career which included. I was a small business ownership and general management within the retail sales and service industries. I am a senior. Throughout high school and college I worked for our family business, a New Jersey photography studio featuring indoor and outdoor facilities catering to the wedding and social event markets including corporate clients for public relations or commercial photography.
In 1992 I added an American Express Travel Agency to provide honeymoons, family and corporate travel and utilize our customer base.
I am mostly an operations person connecting A+ to B and B to C with a strong sales ands marketing background. I am seeking either a part time position or a full-time positing and am available to start before Sept 25th.I was the general contractor to rebuild two retail sites am well as multi construction of my home in NJ. I believe that my knowledge, and background can be an asset to your company. Whether the position that I am applying is available or another one please don’t hesitate to contact me.
1972-1976 Attended a few colleges to study marketing, photography, art, design and liberal arts. During this period and for thirty years I was an advanced amateur musician performing with community orchestras, dance bands and church events.
1974 Became the General Manager for the business and within one year I increased revenue by 30%, added a sales/satellite affiliated American Express travel agency to book honeymoons and group travel to our existing customer base. In this period, I redesigned the studios’ interiors with updated carpet, textured corduroy walls and wand gallery lighting.
1992 2007 Developed a third retail sales and service business This unique business was exclusively designed my myself and then joined a postal service network that did not offer a business such as this one. Over 75 vendors were part of this operation. This multifaceted business comprised of shipping and business related and travel services, upscale cards and gifts featuring items such as Vera Bradly, featuring custom gift baskets and a chocolatier and Amish furniture .Some vendors displayed their items on consignment which helped fill up the store without the extra layout of purchasing inventory. I believed that paying for retail space for shipping and business services needed to be supplements to utilize unused square footage of retail space. Through this business I learned a lot about accessorizing, similar to selling home decorations, wall art, etc. in the furniture business. My store was voted #1 out of 400 stores in the network for design and creatively and was considered to be a role out model for the network.

2007-2012 Became a Director of Special Events and Groups for an American Express affiliated travel agency and then accepted a second position in NYC working as the liaison to the CEO of a well know tour operator serving the Middle East. My role was Director of Custom and Private Tours.
2012-2019. I became a home based travel agency for Avoya Travel, the worlds’ largest affiliated American Express travel agency in the word. In 2019 I moved to Florida and stayed active in the travel industry until Covid 19 completely shut down the industry. After being retired I have decided to move into a new positon.
I believe that I can be an asset to Island River Furniture either in sales or operations management.
