PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

ASML USA. San Diego, CA

Architect, Staff Electrical Engineer

A staff technical member responsible for engineering electrical framework in development of EUV lithography system with cutting edge technology

Key Achievements:

• Lead improvement in system architecture and performance to empower EUV light output, collaborate through cross functional teamwork for continuous product line upgrade, and deliver results that succeed in meeting customers demand for higher power output, reduced maintenance frequency and cost in design phase, lower service time during customer manufacturing process.

• Develop and design MHRG (Microwave-based Hydrogen Radical Generator) to maintain clearness of vessel vacuum chamber, improve availability of 1.5-meter-collector-mirror in EUV source and increase its life span.

• Develop and design THRG (Thermal-energy-based Hydrogen Radical Generator) to maintain clarity & cleanness of 13 optical metrology ports on EUV vessel. This improves both performance quality and life span of metrology ports.

• Diagnose and identify the root cause of failure in BLM (Beam Laser Module). By limiting width and frequency of driving pulse in new circuit, it secretes the performance and life-time of metrology laser diode.

Public

• Redesign LLM (Line Laser Module) control electronics with 10W laser source to increase droplet camera frame rate, from 15 fps to 2000 fps, which improve metrology performance by eliminating multi-centroids in result image.

• Redesign DL3MD ( Dual Long Long Life Motor Driver) control module, using new control algorithm in both of hardware and firmware to drive step motors. It results in increasing life time of Anode Electrode from 1 billion pulses to 30 billion pulses. Teledyne Scientific and Imaging, LLC. Thousand Oaks, CA Senior Electrical Design Engineer

A key staff member, sole electrical contributor/designer in charge of all involved projects. Constantly delegated and coordinated multiple projects simultaneously. Developed and delivered government contract projects and company's niche products on time, with up-to-date advanced technologies, and under tight schedule as well.

Key Achievements:

• Within two months period, developed and delivered high-voltage control system for 1024 dielectric pixels for TDM (Thin Deformable Mirror) to dynamically adjust mirror surface and compensate the distorted input imagine by high speed air flow. This design ensured company winning next phase DoD contract.

• Played an expert role in developing ASIC image controller. To improve the quality of imagine from deep-universal-space, in 4 weeks, developed and delivered 2 sets of unique assembly firmware code for image capture control. These marketing efforts helped customer winning government contracts and Teledyne granted with sub-contracts subsequently.

• In 4 months, designed and delivered SOAP (Small Optical Angle Pointing system, composed of 4 cameras in compact size (3.5” x 2.2” x 1.5”), with wireless control and low power consumption. By implementing polynomial curve fitting in imagine process, SOAP achieves 10 times better resolution than result directly from image sensor raw data.

• Developed, designed and delivered C-Sniper project, a video field scanning system, in less than 12 weeks, including fine tuning the synchronization among ERS of camera and LASER beam scanner, and furthermore, mirror scanning controller, after system being integrated with Video Process Unit.

• Within 6 weeks and limited budget, revised and delivered Line Camera design to meet customer’s upgraded requirement in further compact size and lower power consumption. ACEA Biosciences, Inc. San Diego, CA

Principal Electronics Engineer

A key staff member, lead state of art design of RT-CES (Real Time Cell Electronic Sensing), managed design work from multiple groups worldwide.

Key Achievements:

• Expanded RT-CES design to Multi-plate System, from single 96-well station to six 96-well stations with automatic plates loading.

• Diversified RT-CET design to MAS (Migration Analyzing System), a device for new and wider research application.

• Optimized control algorithm in scanning/testing scheme of device to meet customer special requirements.

• Validated and upgraded performance product line and furthermore, added self-system simulation and evaluation function.

Public
