(b) Carried out plant test work on electrolyte TOTAL SUSPENDED SOLIDS (TSS) reduction method and achieved a reduction from an average of 50 ppm to 10 ppm with resulting improved dispatchability (exportability) of REC Cathodic copper by 8% to 98.9%. (c) Investigated causes of low current efficiencies in one part of the Refinery Tankhouse and recommended ideas, which were adopted after a technical presentation to all Refinery personnel. Overall improvement in Current efficiencies from 89.5% to 93.9%.

(d) Investigated and resolved the cause of high copper cathode slime contamination for the period in which 890T of potential finished cathode was rejected at a processing cost.

Experimented and implemented 95.57% PCR Cycle Efficiency tonnes copper per annum and 3.1% reduction in electric energy consumption.

(e) Studied and recommended the best operating procedure in order to minimize high copper inventory in the form of heavy copper anode scrap. This reduced the operating average inventory from 2100 tonnes to 150 tonnes.

(f) Carried out and successfully implemented an experiment on use of heavy scrap copper anodes in place of copper starting sheet in impurity removal cascade units. This increased copper starting sheets production by 160 tonnes per annum and reduced reprocessing cost at Smelter.

(g) Carried out toll copper anode treatment at company (KCM) level to establish, as a reference for any future contract KCM will undertake to treat any foreign concentrates, practically attainable recoveries to slimes of gold and silver.
