SUMMARY Nursing CAREER EXPERIENCE OVERVIEW
Graduation: 2000 BSN from St. Francis Medical Center College of Nursing (SFCON), started my nursing career. What was my favorite rotation? Community Nursing of course! In the next 10 years, employed nursing experience and practice, was earned in the hospital (Med Surg/PCU/ED), CMS long-term case management acute care (Gentiva, Bloomington), behvioral/physical assessment/evaluation home health case management,Home Health community agency settings with additional executive administration regulatory nursing experience, as assistant director of Fulton County Community Wellness Clinic, Canton. IL.
Graduation: 2011 Masters Science Nursing (MSN) graduate degree, from Loyola University, New Orleans with a Specialty in Health Care Systems Management
Leadership/Adminstration/Management, Healthcare Systems Delivery/Management, Quality and Safety, and Human Capital Management.
Minor Degree Courses: 2011 Nursing Education, from Research College of Nursing, Kansas City, MO. Acquired education, skills and tools of an advanced practice executive nurse and certified nurse educator. Integrity, ability to make decisions under pressure, perspective, emotional intelligence, communication skills, mentorship ability and flexibility.
Many student teaching education practicum hours w ere spent this Spring Semester at Fulton County Health Department, Canton, IL., teaching junior/senior/ RN - BSN students regarding community nursing/population health/disease management and prevention skills to expose students to real life experiences to further develop crital thinking and problem solving abilities. I was honored to be precept ed by Dr. Nancy Bailey DNP, RN, CNE., Chair of the Community Nursing Department.SFCON, during my student teaching practicum hours, while acquiring my MSN degree.
After graduation: 2011, Acceptence of adjunct clinical instructor/theory assistant professor of Nursing facuty teaching job at SFCON and I continued to teach there until the 2020, COVID-19 pandemic occured and laid me off from work, due to low student enrollment.
My performance excelled In these nurse educator role responsibilities and abilities: teaching clinical nursing skills,simulation skills, community nursing theory, student and patient education, student active learning experiences and interpersonal skills, computer and presentation skills, nursing standards, agency standards and managment, equipment training, and leadership development. Facilitation of student and patient care education experiences in the community setting, through the entire life span, infant to geriatrics. Following the mission of St. Francis Medical Center and practiced with the greatest care and love of the Catholic Church.
CAREER OBJECTIVE: Community Nursing is my heart. My future career objective is to keep teaching health education to clients, patients and to the communities in Central Illinois. I have made a commitment to life-long learning and education in my specialty areas. In the next 10 years, my personal career goals are Certification in Nursing Education (CNE), Nurse Executive Certification, Healthcare Quality and Management Certifications (HCQM) in Utilization Review, Patient Care Management and Quality Management, Performance Monitoring, Improvement and the medical software systems they support.

Following the nursing process and leading, (two) 8-hour clinical days and (one) 8-hour student advisement and evaluation (paperwork) days per week during each semester. I orientated and advised students of the standards, strategies and skills that a community nurse uses in everyday practice. Scheduled nurse shadowing visits with many organizations and community agencies, directed and facilitated local area health teaching to various age populations, in local area community agencies.
Provided student instruction and clinical guidance on patient care, on-site, working with the most vulnerable populations, Minorities: homeless families, homeless children, homeless men and women, homeless veterns all located at The Salvation Army-Heartland Division Headquarters 401 NE Adams St, Peoria. Following the nursing process, planning care and providing interventions, assessments and evaluations of client care and leading nursing students, (two) 8-hour clinical days and (one) 8-hour student evaluation (paperwork) days per week during each semester. I orientated and advised students to the Tazewell County Public Health Department and staff, scheduled nurse visits with the different departments: Environmental Health, Birth to 5, Community Health and the Health Department Clinic Services.
Provided student instruction and clinical guidance with mom/baby visits and elderly geriactric case management visits, with each individual nursing student, each semester. I also coordinated contracts and clinical visits at many other community agencies in the Tazewell, Fulton, Washington, Peoria and E. Peoria County areas.
Directed students to develop and advertise health promotion presentations to present in-person to the public in adult and child focused community agencies, teaching projects, children ages 2-6 years focusing on needs and health care concerns for this early child care population. Each pair of students presented to the pre-school students and staff at the community agency, The Family Center Head Start, Child care agency in East Peoria, Illinois. I have expertise in Early Child Development strategies and management, through early childhood education and working personally with high risk infants and children with delayed child development needs, and facilition of early-child developmental experiences, for my nursing students, Birth to 5 Program at local Head Start Organizations, local day care centers and Tazewell County Health Department and Fulton County Health Departments.
