● Worked as a kindergarten teacher when first hired at Sam Houston Elementary in Ector County Independent School District, after the holiday break I taught 2nd grade (2018-2019.)
● The next fall I became the lead teacher in the 3rd grade teaching all subjects (2019-2020.) The second semester we switched to departmental teaching, letting me focus on developing the ELAR disciplines for the students.
● In addition to my academic duties,I helped in writing a grant in 2019 with a colleague, to help our school grow in scientific academics as well as learning life skills. The grant was for an aquaponic garden where we will start with just growing lettuce for the students to try, then as the system grows, they will get larger fish to harvest as well. Sam Houston being a title 1 school, there are many homeless students. We wanted to show them how they can grow their own food, as well as help the students as much as we could while they attend school
