Business Development Coordinator (Section Head), COMMUNITY SKILLS DEVELOPMENT CENTRE (COSDEC), ONDANGWA - OPUWO, Namibia 06 April 2021- To date JOB DETAIL: Coordinate the marketing, profiling and networking activities and providing efficient administrative and other support services for the Business Development Centre. To develop the marketing plan for the Centre. Working closely with the BD/MM Manager to ensure that all opportunities for new business are capitalized on a no stone is left unturned in the pursuit of new business for the centres. Responsible for all marketing and networking activities of the Centre and implement the marketing strategy at the Centre.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
SUPPORT RETAIL MANAGEMENT
Coordinate orders from clients for products from National crafters.
Liaise with Training Coordinator with regards to orders for crafts produced at Centre.
Coordinate Craft selection and buying trips when required.
Ensure formal procedures are adhered to by signing MOUs or contracts between crafters or craft organisations and COSDEF Arts & Crafts. EVENT PLANNING & SHOWS
Negotiations for events with:
Booking of event space.
Arrange food and beverage.
Order audio-visual equipment.
Make travel arrangements if necessary.
Develop & order event advertising materials.
Ensure appropriate décor.
Gather information on each event/project to achieve quality standards.
Create and revive room layout for each event.
Serve as a liaison with service providers/vendors on event-related matters.
Managing on-site production and clean-up for events as necessary.
Prepare event/workshop materials e.g. name/seating cards etc., promoting and using the Centre’s production workshops/units where ever possible.
Close all events are required.
EVENT ADMINISTRATION
Sourcing tenders and writing proposals.
Preparing budgets and provide periodic progress reports to Centre Manager for each event.
Keep tract of event finances including check requests, invoicing and reporting.
Coordinate events and visits to view venue.
Scheduling of events on the calendar.
MARKETING OF PRODUCTS, EVENTS, TRAININGS AND CENTRE
Develop printable and digital Marketing Materials and strategies for distribution.
Maintain the website/Facebook and all social Media.
Update on-line catalogue and profiles of crafters.
Organize participation of various Trade Fairs, Expos and School visits.
Design all advertising materials.
NETWORKING
Establish national network of performers/Artists/Musicians/Drama groups.
Select Youth Drama Groups, who use Amphitheatre to practice and perform.
Establish national network of companies in Corporate and Tourism sector for the conference facility.
Promoting the goals and activities of the COSDEF Arts & Craft Centre and COSDEC.
COMMUNICATION

Develop appropriate questionnaires about venue and events with Arts & Crafts Team.

Develop new innovative ideas alongside Centre Manager for performances for performances and conferences in line with Research results. DEVELOPMENT AND PROVISION OF BUSINESS SUPPORT SERVICES
Identify SME Incubation Units needs and write appropriate proposals for the acquisition and fulfilment of those needs.
Establish and maintaining business support services to Incubation Units and Retails shops.
Provide measures to ensure the recoveries of funds advanced to Incubators.
Supervision of Incubation services.
Organise SME Training.
Provide mentoring and coaching services/programmes to Incubates and external SMEs.
Supervision and coordination of Entrepreneurship trainings. PLANNING AND REPORTING

Responsible for the commercial strategy of IUM Venue Services, maximising revenues for the institution, building new business and providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
Increased profitability of the department by 65% by effectively controlling the venue space to maximise sales and profitability.
Streamlined expenditure by negotiating heavily discounted purchase rates to update venue furniture, equipment and infrastructure.
Identified and developed new business opportunities, maximising further customer account penetration through a focussed venue space marketing campaign.
