Duties include Sampling, subsampling, logging, labeling, performing analytical testing and monitoring, reporting according to regulations169 &170/03, 128 and 129/04 for Wastewater NPDES/CSO, Sewer Use By Law for Strom Water and Sanitary Water. Performs all operational and basic routine and preventative maintenance duties for assigned facilities including water quality testing, system monitoring, cleaning, and deliveries to lab. Works with the Data Management Team to support the Operations Group by performing daily tasks including result data entry, data analysis, inspection programs and quality control to ensure all data collection is monitored in compliance with applicable regulations and in accordance with site specific documents for drinking water and wastewater facilities across Ontario;

Maintains logs and records pertaining to system performance and conditions, in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements. Assists in maintaining a safe work environment by using appropriate PPE and Health and Safety training. Promotes a positive working environment, and puts forward a professional approach with the clients, establish and maintain relationships. Ensures compliance with all applicable legislation, regulations, approvals, orders, and guidelines. Adjusts, inspects and evaluates process performance and equipment, in order to optimize efficiency and effectiveness in accordance with established procedures. Respond and report to plant personnel daily about the wastewater testing and sampling.

Work in compliance with Legislation & the regulatory matters and participated in maintenance of laboratory accreditation as well as the maintain the plant C of A with MOECC to enhance the Provincial Water Quality Objectives. Routine sample logging in LIMS, receiving samples, authorizing results and preparing sub samples to another accredited labs for extra test. Participated with some sampling and testing project at the wastewater treatment plant. Conduct all the inorganic analysis related to, wastewater, sewage, bio-solids.

-Conduct all the inorganic analysis related to drinking water, wastewater, sewage, bio-solids, landfill, leachates, sludge, solids, industrial wastes and other effluents and substances.

-Experience with using various instruments for conducting the analysis such as BOD, COD, DO, TKN, NH3-N, TCN, Anions, Cations, Alkalinity & pH, Chlorine, conductivity, jar test, Total Solids, TP etc.

-Compare results to standards to ensure limits are not exceeded according to the regulatory act and the requirement.

-Prepare, analyze and check standard solutions, monitor the QA/QC controls.

- Enter and analyze data using LIMS and authoring the results according to QA/QC protocol.

-Interpret results and participate in operational and product quality assurance and activities.

-Train and demonstrate testing procedures, coordinate activities, check work to ensure quality control standards are met and provide technical/functional instructions to other Chemist Assistants.

-Worked with WHMIS2015 and the applicable standards, All the legislation and regulations,, ISO/IEC 17025:2005 laboratory accreditation standard, Safe Drinking Water Act, OWRA and EPA standard.

-Maintained the general hose keeping, records keeping, inventory, ordering, purchasing, updating the MDS, Health & Safety check and the requirement, updating the validation requirements of the equipment used for the testing and monitoring.
