Approximately 8 years of this experience was as a Product Manager, where in my last role I managed 10 product lines, consisting mostly of separation systems (i.e. wastewater screens and screenings handling equipment). Major responsibilities as a PM were to manage my products from cradle to grave, marketing, new product development and launching, project management, to be the go-to product specialist, and the voice of the customer. I have worked in both the Municipal and Industrial markets. oErected a General Contracting Construction Company from the ground up.

oManaged forming the business: Acquiring the necessary subcontractors, laborer crews, equipment, lead generation software and resources, etc.

oManaged nearly all aspects of the company, including but not limited to:

Acquiring Leads and meeting with the clients to discuss their needs. Take the necessary measurements and details required to formulate an accurate estimate.

Utilize estimating software and QuickBooks to generate an estimate in a timely manner.

Following up with the client to answer any questions or concerns.

Once job was won, became project manager. Acquiring the necessary tradesman and laborers and scheduling their time. Listing all the necessary materials needed for the project and ordering them from numerous vendors.

Maintain constant contact with on-site foreman and client to ensure project is on schedule and there are no issues to deal with.

oServed as the product specialist for 10 wastewater treatment equipment lines, mostly headworks separations products.

oResponsibilities and job scope included the following (but were not limited to):

Product Presentations: Presented my product lines to customers (i.e. Engineering Consultants, Municipalities, Industrial Clients, etc.) and at seminars and shows. This required extensive travel with Regional Sales Managers and Manufacturer Reps, and including brown bag presentations or existing installation tours.

Responsible for working with Engineering Consultants directly or through RSM’s/reps to get products strongly specified on opportunities, following through as needed, to bid day.

Product Training: Responsible for training of my product lines. Training was provided to both internal personnel and Manufacturer Reps.

Product Sales and Margin Targets: Responsible to work directly with each RSM to set targets for my products in each of their territories.

Competitor Evaluations: Consistently monitor the actions and equipment of competitors. Visit sites that had competing equipment and evaluate their designs and pros/cons. Write competitor reports allowing sales with vital information on how to sell against them.

Project Integrator: Assigned as project integrator on any large or complex projects. Duties were consistent with project manager. I would follow the project from the time it was sold until after it was installed and started-up, making sure that all proper procedures were followed, all personnel were doing their part, and that the customer ultimately got the exact equipment or system that they desired and/or was specified.

Build and Maintain Strong Relationships with Top Engineering Consulting Firms: Visit them on a regular basis with reps/RSM, and assisting with project designs and solutions, always leveraging position on bid day.

Engineering Support: Working directly with internal engineers on in house projects, assuring the equipment selection and system layouts were accurate and in the best interest of the customer. Helping finalize any product updates or upgrades to equipment.

Product Innovations: Testing and implementation of new innovations for existing products.

Internal Sales support: Aiding in proposals, specification reviews, drawing reviews, and costing.

Customer Service support: Taking calls from customers with equipment or system issues to help get them resolved.

Field Service support and troubleshooting: Supporting field service technicians with equipment service or start-up issues in the field. Including traveling to job sites to resolve reoccurring or difficult issues.

Rep and Territory Management: Staying aware of where certain products are strong and where they are lacking sales, investigate short comings, and travel with and further train RSM’s and rep’s in those territories.

Product Sales Tools: Responsible for maintaining and updating all sales tools (i.e. specifications, costing sheets, proposal templates, product information documents, brochures, samples, competitor analyses, etc.).

December 2011 – October 2012 Regional Sales Manager – Industrial Systems

oRegional coverage of Eastern USA. Food & Beverage Segment Leader for entire USA.

oResponsible for sales of equipment and systems for wastewater and process water in the Industrial Market.

oManaged Rep Force.

oFocused more on selling systems rather than individual pieces of equipment. Met with clients inquiring about equipment. Inspected their current system of operations and sold them on the cost effectiveness of installing a more complete system rather than just the one piece of equipment.

April 2010 – October 2011 Regional Sales Manager – Aftermarket Services

oResponsible for sales of aftermarket parts and equipment rebuilds for existing installations in the SE United States.

oDirectly involved with launching Parkson’s proactive rebuild campaign.

oSold six million dollars in revenue for the year, exceeding the forecasted budget of four million.

oTrained and traveled with manufacturer reps to advise on what to look for in selling rebuilds on equipment.
