I started out at the very bottom as an associate, and as of right now I am a Training Captain, Shift manager and Store Associate. I say this is the most difficult because it is not just physically demanding but insanely mentally demanding.

In 2010 when I became pregnant with my daughter, I started to get a little too big to pick up fifty pound buckets of icing etc. I started cashiering and stocking the remainder of my pregnancy. I also filled in for the floral department when it was needed. I did a lot of bouncing around and multi-tasking for Straub’s. Starting out I made $7.50 an hour, upon leaving I made $9.75 an hour.

I turned the opportunity down because I didn’t feel I was ready for that big of a jump when I was 16. I did work very hard and I learned as much as I could. Starting out, I made $6.50 an hour, upon leaving I made $7.25 an hour.
