I have profitably applied skills in analyzing and implementing business and construction strategies in project development, budget management, and management leadership to achieve superior results on all endeavors. I feel that my experience and entrepreneurial insight can be utilized to the advantage of your Company. My proven record of achievement has led to rapid career growth and tremendous amounts of additional responsibility.
Results achieved to date include:
Directed activities for four telecommunication projects including documenting field variations, maintaining on-the-job “as-built” drawings, and coordinating changes through team of subcontractors, suppliers, and supervisors.
Successfully completed fast paced assignment on time and below extremely tight budget of $3 million.
Performed field pre-work to ensure that $5 million project remained on target from start to finish.
I am bringing to your attention my skills, achievements, and ability to produce under pressure and multifaceted conditions so that we may discuss the Project Superintendent’s position. I will work hard to achieve results and look forward to discussing how I can contribute to Your Company’s future success. I am willing to relocate overseas for an extended period if necessary. LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION
For: Jerry Combs Site Superintendent
By: Mario Thompson Director of Environmental Services
October 31, 2019
To whom it may concern:
It is my pleasure to write this unsolicited letter of recommendation on behalf of Jerry Combs. Jerry was the Site Superintendent for a remodeling project at Colonial Heights Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. Remodeling a 196bed facility that involved a lot of management and coordination to get the project done.
I had no prior relationship with Jerry, who was hired to be the site superintendent for South Coast Improvement Company. Jerry’s prior experience working in construction really paid off. He was knowledgeable about all aspects of our project, and was able to plan, coordinate and manage the activities of different work crews effectively. He remained closely involved in overseeing the project from start to finish. His strong organizational skills, and commitment to follow-through are assets which enabled him to juggle the extensive details in our project without missing a beat. Jerry’s familiarity with building codes and dealing with city hall also facilitated a smooth and hassle-free process with I came to building permits and inspections.
Other than a few (Doors unlock and keeping tools unattended) relatively minor exception with Jerry promptly addressed once I brought it to his attention, the workmen whom Jerry Utilized were professional, reliable, courteous, and respectful.
Jerry kept me closely informed of work crew’s schedules, delivery dates, and projected completion dates of different phases for our project. His communication (whether by cell phone or email) was always clear, informative, and helpful. He was either available on his cell phone or returned my phone call within reasonable time. We never had a single miscommunication throughout the project. His communication with the work crews was just as effective.
In closing, we want to thank Jerry for all he has done on this project at Colonial Heights Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.

To whom it may concern:
Jerry Combs was employed by South Coast Improvement Company as a Superintendent for interior renovations of fully occupied skilled nursing facilities. These projects are difficult as the environment in which they are being done is sensitive and schedule can change constantly due to the needs of the facility. Jerry was an excellent communicator both with the client and with our office. The projects were done to the satisfaction of the ownership group, and we never heard anything negative from the sub-contractors that the project wasn’t being managed properly. The Project Manager on the project as well as the APM enjoyed working with Jerry as well.
I will hire Jerry Combs back in a minute if the need arises. I always enjoyed my interactions with Jerry. He was responsive and had a good handle on the project. This is vital to us as much of our work is remote so trust in the Superintendent is critical. I trust Jerry Combs.
I am available to discuss Jerry’s qualifications and to expand on my experience with Jerry. Please do not hesitate to call me directly.
Sincerely,
Thomas M. Quinlan

To Whom It May Concern,
It has been my pleasure to work with Jerry Combs on the MSl - Apiarian "switch" located in Tampa, Florida. This project was a challenging one due to the thirty-five day-schedule, sophisticated mechanical systems, and the fact that it was "field designed" (designed during construction). This project required the entire construction team to be flexible and adaptable to the ever-changing conditions of the job she and work both day and night shifts to accommodate the accelerated schedule. As the superintendent on this job for Carlson, Jerry was a constant source of direction and worked round the clock with all trades to ensure the success of this project. Even under the roughest job site conditions and continual changes in the design
Jerry maintained a professional attitude and kept a tough, yet fair, demeanor. This type of superintendent leadership is appreciated by both clients and trade sub-contractors alike and is characteristic of a true "team player".
Additionally, Jerry performed all of the above responsibilities as a "traveling" employee. This type of work is difficult enough without adding the extra stresses of not being with the family and adapting to the job site city. It takes a particularly dedicated and loyal person to work under these constraints. Jerry handles it all with an exceptional attitude and calm disposition.
Please contact me if you have any further questions, 813-***-****.
Cordially,
THE PERRY COMPANY

To Whom It May Concern:
In the period of time that I have known Jerry Combs, I have been very much impressed with his ability to take charge of a situation and get things done. He has a very real talent of leadership in that he can work in a complex and sometimes confusing workplace and can get the things that are important done. His ability to work with people is also one of his attributes, in that he is well liked, but still firm enough to get things going when problems need to be solved.
I will recommend Jerry to anyone that especially needs the skills of a construction superintendent. My experience with him is in the telecommunications workplace, where he did for me an outstanding job.
Please feel free to contact me if there is a further need to discuss Jerry's skills and personal attributes.

Subject: MISSION Accomplished for MSI / Apiarian
MISSION Accomplished " we did it!" (I'm a little premature but I couldn't sleep) We designed and implemented three sites "for this new company in three months. What was so incredible was that we were able to begin design and construction, and still be flexible enough to accommodate their changes, which were happening faster than their name changes.
This "design as you build" mode we were forced to use was especially challenging as it presented many "opportunities" between the design teams and the PM/Supt's. The Superintendents were forced into keeping the subs committed to the March 31, 2000, completion date while asking them to make what seemed like daily changes.
Many long hours were spent developing drawings and design criteria for this start-up company that didn't seem to know what they needed or wanted at times, to which I must give special thanks to Kevin Walsh for his superb effort. It was also difficult dealing with their pressure for meeting deadlines, as they knew we would either make or break them.
In Tampa, Hal Adams. R.C. Edwards. Jim Mountz, Bob Jones, and Jerry Combs kept saying we will make it work when many said it couldn't be done with such a late start (Eight weeks for design, permit, and construction), it took a huge team effort to bring the Atlanta team on board quickly with support from the Dallas team, without a clearly defined scope for this client in the early stages. The Apiarian Tampa Site Manager (hired from GTE) came to the site office yesterday to thank us for doing an amazing job " he couldn't believe what we accomplished in three weeks (construction began 3 1/2 weeks ago).
Now we have the challenge to learn from are mistakes (several of us were new in our positions) and build on our accomplishments to develop teams throughout Carlson as we scale up to meet the rapidly growing number of sites expected from Apiarian. We have set a precedent for this client and will be expected to perform similar miracles at many more sites.
I don't know of any other company that could have accomplished what we have for this client in this time frame. I appreciate everyone's effort and support to make this a truly outstanding team performance at all three sites (Austin. Dallas, and Tampa).
Thanks So Much Jerry {call me}
Give me a set of plans, Shop Drawings, Spec sheets, and a time frame and the job will get done.
