Started off on the depal machine for Spam canning. Made sure that the machine I was assigned to worked properly and continuously, and efficiently ran as needed. Loaded Spam cans onto the belt of the machine in order to send them off to the seamers. I would have to make sure that the cans were lined up correctly and were able to be sent over the line to the seamers to fill with the product. I then was asked to transfer over to the Bacon Dice department where I had to use a hand pallet jack to load up the totes of unprocessed bacon onto the machine to dump it onto a belt where it would go thru the dicer and into the pressure cooking machine. We were in charge of inspecting the bacon as it was dumped onto the moving belts before going thru the dicer. If there was ANY type of foreign material in the bacon, then we would have to stop and clean up the entire machines that were effected in order to restart the process .
