Resume:

DEVON ELIZABETH FULFORD, EDD

Loveland, CO adsf2u@r.postjobfree.com

Good day! My name is Devon Fulford; thank you so much for taking time with my application materials! People are apt to professionally identify with a particular role: an editor, a professor, or an executive. My singular role is wordsmith. Playing with, learning about, and editing words to effectively communicate has been a lifelong endeavor. Even as a young child, one could regularly find me crafting written stories, poetry, and even self-conceived reports about my world. My passion for words resulted in two of my four degrees centered in writing. Starting in 2014, I’ve used these skills and education in professional contexts. Because of these experiences—coupled with countless workshops and freelance jobs—I have also developed sharp, expert editing chops. I adore and thrive in both contexts: I’ve been a copy editor and copywriter, managed content calendars, helped develop in- house style manuals, and am seeking a position where my passion and my skills can be best utilized. Due to the nature of my experience and my education, I am confident undertaking most ANY writing or editing project. For a sense of my range, in the past year, my first book of poetry was traditionally published, and I also published my doctoral dissertation (fun fact: I was the only person in my doctoral cohort who published without the aid of an external copy editor). I’ve been managing the content pipelines for two Medium publications and love it. I can sell your brand (once we collaborate on its distinctive expectations), tell your story, and integrate your research into a proposal that secures the grant. Further, I am adept in turning didactic, dry material into engaging (and even humorous!) copy. I am highly experienced in collaborating with cross-functional teams in many fields to develop, curate, and edit content and resources. I utilize data to inform future practices, perform detailed audience analyses, and flourish when both autonomously and remotely working. I excel in many forms of content development

(articles, blogs, web copy, email content, white papers, case studies) for B2B, B2C, and P2P strategies. Beyond my writing life, I have been so fortunate to have worked in education since 2008: from designing pedagogical materials to developing workshops to teaching adult learners, university students, and teenagers in drug and alcohol rehabilitation using both therapeutic and educational models. I am fervently engaged in continuing education and training to learn and promote the most applicable strategies and research centered in diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice. I've developed e-learning and in- person curriculum, trainings, and copious forms of pedagogy across disciplines and for diverse learner populations. My instructional design experience includes Canvas, Blackboard, and Brightspace LMSs. In both my personal and professional spheres, I gravitate toward roles in leadership. Since beginning my own full-time work life as a teenager, I have managed teams of educators, retail and restaurant staffs, students, creative writers, and event production teams. I notoriously advocate for underserved populations and am always the one who raises my voice when injustice or inequity is apparent in any realm of my life. There's a lot to me! I do not easily fit into a single "bucket": I have held many roles but do not feel pigeonholed into a single one. Thank you for your time and please reach out if you have any questions. Kindly,

Devon Fulford, EdD
