RESUME:
I hold a B.S. degree in Psychology with a minor in Nursing from the University of Southern Indiana, Evansville, Indiana. I have completed 16 semester hours in Accounting at Wake Technical Community College, Raleigh, NC, where I maintained a 3.5 GPA. I have 30 years of experience with the Internal Revenue Service where I was employed as an Individual Taxpayer Advisory Specialist, though I worked in a variety of capacities within the Service, including Tax Specialist, Taxpayer Resolution Representative, and Tax Examiner. As a Senior ITAS, I taught several classes (CPE, Tax Law, Adjustment, etc.) within the service. On numerous occasions, I acted as a manager having access to a variety of systems. Also, I received the Managers Award (2002, 07/04/2010 & 07/01/2012 and the performance Award since 2003 through 2008 and 2010 /2012 thru 2017). I retired from Internal Revenue March 2020.
I have extensive experience assisting and advising taxpayers in meeting their Federal tax obligations by explaining questions regarding bills and/or notices and assisting with the necessary actions to resolve issues. I confered with taxpayers and their representatives to research issues involving accounting and its applicability to tax law, law regulations and then propose adjustments with easily understandable explanations. When taxpayers experience stressful situations or severe hardships, I was able to relate and give advice to the stressful experience and find workable resolutions to the problems. While my job entails assisting and advising taxpayers in meeting their Federal tax obligations, I also:

●Perform research, analysis and necessary computation to recommend adjustments to customer’s accounts.
●Protect confidential information within the confines of disclosure laws, rules and regulations.
●Have extensive experience meeting and dealing with a variety of taxpayers while maintaining professionalism and courtesy even during confrontational situations.
●I am experienced using many IRS programs, to include IDRS, IAT, AMS, CIS, REQ54, ACS, SERP, EUP, FAMIS, SETR, FAST system, etc.
●Interact effectively with taxpayers, complete the proper collection forms manually and online, manage case-loads, maintain records and receipts for the cases managed.
●Use resources such as IRM, IRC, and ICS to make informed and fact based decisions.
●Interview taxpayers using interest-based problem solving techniques.
