The system was designed with one card reader at the front gate to admit plant employees, one card reader at the side gate to admit non-employees and one card reader at the septage receiving station. Once the card swiped at the septage receiving station was verified as being one of the companies on file access would be granted to operate the control panel. Push buttons and pilot lights on the panel provided a means of visual confirmation and control. The system logged the number of gallons dumped along with any ph alarms and also, calculated amounts due per total gallons dumped per month.
