I am currently working as Assistant Professor in Internal medicine at Gaims, Bhuj, and Gujarat which is a 750 bedded hospital working in a PPP (Public-private partnership) model. I am responsible for outpatient clinics, inpatient and handling of ICU patients. Upon completion of my senior residency in GAIMS, was promoted to Assistant professor in MAY 2022. I completed my junior residency in Internal medicine at JJMMC, and the total duration of the course was 3 years.

During my first year, learned and mastered History taking especially in the neurology section and clinical examination of all patient
Management of basic Outpatient patients like hypertension, diabetes, Upper respiratory tract infection, Urinary tract infection, Bronchial asthma, Acute exacerbation of COPD, Fever, and Acute gastritis independently
Average outpatient load daily would range from 150-200, I would see around 40-50 outpatients daily
Initial assessment and evaluation of newly admitted patients and reporting the provisional diagnosis
Involve in the discussion of the diagnosis and appropriate investigations tube sent
Counselling patients and discuss the line of management with the patients along with the consultant
Performing basic procedures like drawing blood, Ryle tube insertion, female /male catheterization, and getting IV access for administration of drugs, were performed daily
Monitoring of patients in the ward, addressing their issues as well administrative tasks were handled by me.
Night duty in the frequency of 1 in 5 was done in the emergency department.
Handling of snake bites – neurotoxic, vasculotoxic bites, under supervision initially later independently.
Organophosphorous poisoning cases occurred in high frequency –learned complete management of the same from providing gastric lavage to intubation if needed.
Other commonly seen cases in emergency included – Diabetic Ketoacidosis, Pneumonia, Stroke, Hypertensive emergency,Meningitis,Acute exacerbation of COPD,Acute pancreatitis.
During the ICU postings, Monitoring of patients, assessment of patients on continuously, making critical decisions.

Rota mainly involves handling 3 days OPD and 3 days emergency duty in a week
