Board member of Only Seven Ministries

October 2015 to Present

Our work in the Philippines

Only Seven Ministries works with children and their families living in abject poverty, malnourished, uneducated, abused and abandoned. Our ministry is primarily focused in the landfills where children grow up among heaps of garbage, stench and rotting biohazards and in the villages where there is no running water or electricity. Many of these children of God are victims or survivors of human trafficking where they have been or are being sexually exploited. We gain trust and open hearts to receive the gospel by offering our education, medical work and evangelism to the villagers. Because medical missionary work opens hearts and minds like nothing else can, we strive to bring health in every area of their lives.

Our work in the Philippines consists of 4 main programs. Our Education, Medical, Evangelism and Clothing programs were designed to meet the needs of the community on a holistic level. The Education program provides much needed study materials for students and Life Education classes for parents and children together. The Life Education classes cover various topics from parenting to hygeine to child protection for families in our programs. The Medical program consists of the distribution of much needed vitamins, medicine and supplies such as antibiotics, antifungals, respiratory meds, children's medications, as well as bandages, dental hygiene kits and deworming of parasites. Most importantly we provide medical care for children by working with our partners within the local health care system. This includes offering free medical care for urgent cases involving children and providing coordination, transportation to the hospital and continuity of care.

The Evangelism program efforts really shine in the community thanks to God's leading. We are blessed to have a team of a dozen teenage girls from the villages assisting us in our work. Our Field Manager Von is currently leading our local village volunteers in Bible study 2 times per month and leads out in our Vacation Bible School 1 time per month for the children. Evangelistic meetings are held 4 times per year when our director is in the country visiting the sites. Our Clothing program provides new and gently used clothing and sandals from the USA and from local markets in the Philippines to the children in our programs. The key to the success of our programs is Child Sponsorship. When donors like you choose to sponsor a child we ensure they get all of these services.
