Working on the Trans Canada oil pipeline at one of more than 25 pump stations was a growing experience

where I was able to learn 5KV terminations in addition to my regular duties as an electrical installer. One

month after this project ended I took a position with CVE (Canyon Valley Electric) a subsidiary of TIC Holdings

to help complete the construction of a High Security prison complex in southern Colorado

My duties and responsibilities on the Piceance Creek (Rifle, CO) gas pipeline project (Exxon Mobile) included

LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out), punch list correction crew, pump house installation, and heat trace installation.

This project was recognized for over 300,000 man-hours without a single OSHA recordable.

As a lead electrician with Ludvik I was responsible for electrical installations in a twelve-story office building

Including sub-panel feeders, lighting and sound control, transformers, conduit bending, branch circuit routing

and makeup, security systems and life safety systems. At the Denver News Agency I installed the power, communications and grounding system in the computer systems ‘clean room’.

As a contract hire with this company I assisted with the completion of the Pioneer 1 natural gas refinery in

Opal, WY. I was responsible for conduit runs, wire pulls, tray installation, conductor and instrument wire

terminations just to name a few.

At Ludvik I received the opportunity to increase my industrial installation knowledge while working on a

turnaround project (Suncor refinery), a wastewater reclamation plant (Littleton, CO), where I was responsible for the hazardous location installation of the Methanol introduction shed, and an Intel memory

chip production plant (Lehi, UT). At the Micron Plant I installed a 1000 unit UPS system and the corresponding switchgear, and had a significant presence in the clean room (raised floor with intersticial) electrical installation. Some of my additional duties were: tubing installation, cable tray installation, motor terminations, transformer installations, fire alarm installations and programming, lighting, and site-specific safety.

As the owner of my own electrical contracting company I gained a very useful education in time management

and overhead expense. I was able to turn a modest profit by keeping the size of my jobs small before deciding

to return to the ease and convenience of working for an established electrical contractor.

At RJE I worked my way up through the ranks from a residential wireman to a foreman position. I worked on

nearly every aspect of electrical installation from residential to light industrial although the main focus was on

commercial installations. While with RJE I received my first introduction to computer room and raised floor electrical installations.

As a residential wireman with Kimsey I was charged with completing electrical installations on multifamily

dwelling units as well as some public school remodel installations.

I held a brief interim position with Kimsey as their warehouse manager.

With Creative electric I began my pursuit of my Journeyman electrical license under the supervision of

experienced electricians. My primary duties were with the Service Department where I learned how to

troubleshoot. I also gained experience with commercial and residential service changes. After establishing my

ability work alone and run a crew I was charged with temporary power for new jobs as they became available.

June 1988-June 1992

Internal Communications Electrician 3rd Class (IC 3), US Navy

While in the Navy I served aboard the USS Texas (CGN-39). The work I performed was varied. The last two years

I chose the rate of Internal Communications Electrician, whereupon I began my career as an electrician.

While serving aboard the USS Texas I served in Operation Desert Storm and a counter narcotics operation in

South America.
