POSITION DESIRED: Permanent full time Primary Care Position Summary of Goals, Medical HX, Medical and Employment Experiences: I am a bilingual female physician, who is a well experienced family practice boarded physician, with years of medical practice experience since my 1993 graduation from UCLA and Boarded in Family Practice though I really specialize in doing primary care of complex internal medicine cases and Urgent Care work. I am interested in finding work with a larger medical corporation and explore other work opportunities that can enhance my growth as a physician.
I have been working at Trinity Health of New England Trinity Health x 8 months which is undergoing shortages and prior at Charter Oak Health Community Clinic since 2/2014 where I do primary care and supervise other nurse practitioners and PA’s as well, and also have supervised other medical students that have rotated through the department. I have a high number of complicated medical cases that I follow and once stabilized they get switched to my PA’s and NP’s whom I supervise, by administrative choice, for I am always happy to see them again. I work very hard, and remain flexible with my supervisors weekly scheduling needs. I put my heart in my work.
My goal is always to provide ethical quality care. I do a great deal of medical care for geriatric and complex cases, but also take care of patients of all age groups. I am very honest and caring and practice medical based medicine.
Since 2014 on weekends, I also have worked at an Urgent Care (Med Care Express Urgent Care in Newington, CT) previously via Comp Health Agency, in order to keep up my higher-level Urgent care skills fresh. I also have worked at the Charter Oak Urgent care evening shifts sometimes 3x to 4x per week or post my day shift duties in primary care. I n California for many years I worked their adult Urgent care- post hours primary care clinic ( this was more a combo of adult primary care -Urgent Care -mini ER for those avoiding the Kaiser Hospital Emergency Room copays across the street in 1995 through 2007 that I moved to CT ).
All of these different activities and experiences, at different medical settings, allow me to do different levels of medical care and the opportunity to interact with different types of providers and patients with different medical needs, which makes me a better physician every day, and prevents my mind from becoming stagnant.
In the past, since my arrival from California in the summer of 2007-2014 I had chosen to work via temporary positions from 1yr – 3 months long and some via different temporary/locum agencies available in CT as a way of evaluating different medical setting in CT, while looking for the best position for me to settle down in life. Therefore, I do have a wide Community clinic experience in CT. The community clinic permanent primary care position that I had worked at from 2008-2012, in Bristol was closed as of mid-6/2012, as a new CHC Community clinic opened in the same street and the Bristol Hospital found no need to further keep their community clinic open. 2
DR. NIEVES HORNBECK (MD) -CV
In Hartford from 2007-2008, I also did Community Clinic primary care work from 2007-2008 (East Hartford Community Clinic, to which I had given only a one-year commitment). In California, in 1993-2007, I really loved my work in the HMO Kaiser Permanente after hours Clinic 2nd shift (primary and Urgent Care clinic) 28-40 hrs. a week, which I supplemented with other day shift primary care or Urgent Care positions, on and off.
In California I also worked a day shift had a temporary position with Cal States University at long Beach California, day shift Student Health Department as a fulltime provider, from 1/2007-5/2007, covering for a sick provider. That has been my favorite job to date, next to Kaiser, as it was a very organized place to work at. They offered me a full-time position but I did not accept it in order to come to CT with my family. I keep up with my CME’s and like to stay at the edge of medical developments. I have strong job ethics and I am loyal to my employers and patients. I have an excellent attendance record and I am always willing and available to be of help to my colleagues in my work setting. I get along with staff and colleagues, but I do come to work to work .
My long-term goal is to remain in a full-time permanent position, and I look forward to work for a big organization that provides opportunity for physician growth/stability . I plan to work for many more years to come and continue to provide good medical care for years to come, and look forward to serve our community. I am looking for a regarding position that compensates well a hard working physician that does quality care
