Manufacturing Manager

•Hired, supervised and scheduled as many as 180 manufacturing associates at the Knoxville, Middle Creek Facility.

•Responsibilities included tracking and documentation of Key Operating Statistics and Metrics weekly as well as individual shift performance.

•Supported the successful retail licensed brands of LensCrafters, Sears Optical, Target Optical, Sears Canada and Pearle Vision with an overriding focus on associate safety, customer service and quality.

•Performed annual performance reviews for all staff as well as 90 day reviews for newly hired associates.

•Responsible for creation and implementation of training plans and ensuring that training and certification were completed by the established completion time frames.

•Working closely with QC Manager and staff ensured that policies, procedures and documentation as well as training records were properly maintained and adhered to base upon established guidelines and ISO requirements.

Production Manager

•Managed fifty production employees in a high volume Label Printing and Converting, Graphic Arts and Digital Printing environment focusing on high liability/value added products, with the additional challenge of a targeted customer base with quick turnaround requirements.

•Additional responsibilities included oversight of the materials management group as well as the maintenance department.

•Played a key role in the set up and management of a satellite operation in Juarez, Mexico and El Paso, TX that serviced customers interested in maintaining a U.S. corporate headquarters with a manufacturing base in Mexico, meeting the quick turnaround requirements of a targeted customer base.

•Had a key role in the company’s initial acquisition of ISO certification, and re-certifications.

•Support of Sales, Customer Care and Marketing was a very large focus in this management role which included periodic travel to all of the company’s top ten customer sites.

Production Printing Manager

•Supervised and trained fifty plus employees, scheduled workflow, conducted performance evaluations as well as performed other general management duties in a FDA regulated ISO 9001 certified environment.

•Interacted and worked closely with the sales, marketing and advertising departments on numerous printing projects, in addition to collaborating with the engineering staff on new product development in the medical device industry.

•Played an instrumental role in obtaining a patent on a new surgical sterilization pouch design that is currently being utilized for ETO sterilized products within the company as well as external customers.

•Acted as safety committee chairperson responsible for all OSHA requirements, environmental health and safety training as well as internal inspections.
