Accountant/ Finance Manager

Knight Valley Investments t/a Highlands Wellness group January 2021 – Present

Highlands wellness group is the first private drug and psychological rehabilitation organisation in Zimbabwe, it has 3 centres that are in Highlands, Borrowdale and Mandara.

Responsible for preparation of monthly financial management reports, including consolidating the group departmental reports.

Preparation and monitoring of the annual budgets.

Facilitate and maintain effective liaison with relevant stakeholders

Analyse, monitor, and report on major costs categories for the Group, assuming responsibility for all end of month processing in the financial system and preparing any cost allocations.

In April 2022 Knight Valley was bought by CIMAS Healthcare, my roles have remained the same and I now report to the Healthcare Finance Manager.

Key Achievements:

Successfully introduced in-house accounting from external accounting services

Introduced and trained the management on good reporting practices

Utilised my experience to standardise the asset register to prevent assets pilferage

Astro- Africa is a diversified fin-tech group with a number of start-up business under its umbrella. The group operates Astro Mobile Zimbabwe, Astro Mobile Zambia and Astro Mobile Malawi which are into mobile device and accessories supply.

e-Shagi is another business under the group, it’s a financial services company facilitating from personal to SAME loans as well as product financing loans.

Another company in the group is Algebra, which is a software development company.

Worked and improved the costing models for the organisation

Preparing and analysing weekly and monthly Management accounts including P&L report, balance sheet, cash-flow statement and debtors’ reports for the Executive Committee.

Savtap Investments is medical investments company that operates medical centres and pharmacies. My Job title was group accountant but my roles extended to financial management and general management, I was the most senior employee for my duration in the company

Secured position as an administration clerk, then began training to be part of the bookkeeping and audit teams.

Trained in company secretarial duties i.e. company registration, drawing up memorandum and articles of association, making amendments to company ownerships and shareholding structures.

Went on to be a bookkeeper in 2001 after attaining my certificate in cost and management accounting with (IAC), the role involved producing a set of accounts almost every week for different companies.
