Supervisor. I am a mature woman with lots of experience in providing care to
people of the vulnerable sector. I do have a lot of experience in working
with people of all backgrounds with respect and dignity.
I have worked and lived in group homes and support adults with disabilities for
the last 28years at various setting. I was a live-in team leader for 7years, then a
team leader at a day program setting for 7years, a job coach and currently in an
Community Employment Navigator position. I also have tremendous experience
in leading and supervising others. I work well with people of all backgrounds and
adapt well to changes. I am hard-working, dependable, have strong leadership
skills, well composed, professional and have a strong sense of balance in life. I
also handle stress and crisis in a calm manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervised various teams in a fair & compassionate manner. Made sure
members had their annual performance reviews fairly and respectfully. Made
sure, the clients were supervised in a respectful & dignified manner. Made &
accompanied client to medical/dental appointments. Banking & financial matters
were supervised. Supported clients in their personal & bathroom routines
(showers/baths etc.). Made sure clients got the emotional, physical & mental
help needed. Made sure clients were kept busy with activities according to their
abilities and preferences. Was a liaison between the homes, day programs &
families. Outreach program between the day program & the surrounding
community. Supervised an art & craft day program were products like wax & gel
candles, paper (from recycled paper), bookmarks, gardening stones were hand-
made by the clients (with little help from staff) and these products were sold at
various stores and we participated at various festivals etc; also made a few center
pieces for a few weddings. Made sure the clients use their full potential and
were encouraged to use their gifts. Booked and participated in the annual
reviews of all clients. Made sure that each client was busy and productive at their
various day program and workshops. Chaired the weekly Day Program Team
meeting. Made sure all the clients were well supported at all times; clients were
in groups that appealed to them in terms of preference of activities, abilities etc.
Administered medications. Worked collaboratively with all medical professional.
Familiarized myself with the protocols and policies of the organization. Oversaw
the daily finances/petty cash. Oversaw the bank account of the candle/art & craft
workshop. Made sure we participated in as many outreach programs as possible.
Found suitable job/volunteer (volunteered at Meals on Wheels, Ont, flyers
delivery) opportunities for clients and do appropriate follow-ups. Prepared,
cooked & served meals; planned menus; groceries, household & clothes
shopping, laundry, house-keeping & cleaning; taught skills to clients; provided
personal care; brought all appropriate issues/information to my immediate
supervisor in a timely manner. Assisted in the nutrition of clients; supervised a
