Skills:
Languages: English (native), German (proficient), Mandarin Chinese (intermediate). Extensive computer skills: Using software called FileMaker, I spent years creating and expanding a comprehensive Student Information Management System (SIMS) that functions in three languages, English, Korean and Chinese, enabling the sharing and collating of grades and other information between teachers of different language groups. Despite my position being in the English Dept., the SIMS I created was adopted school-wide to carry out administrative functions ranging from exam administration, to assigning students to classes. My facility with computers also resulted in my being given the school-wide task of creating the timetable of lessons for the entire school. Using aScTimeTables software, I collected necessary information about teaching assignments, student course assignments and classroom availability to create optimized timetables for all departments. I have lived in the US, Germany, the Middle East, and now China. As a result I can readily adapt to the work culture of diverse groups.
