Job Tittle: Team Leader in Mobile Apheresis Dept., Phlebotomist
Perform apheresis collections according to established procedures, guidelines and contracts. Draw blood samples and obtain appropriate specimens by venipuncture and capillary technique from patients of all age’s groups by following proper guidelines. Collect blood samples using vacutainer tubes, tourniquets, syringes, butterfly needles, and straight needles. Log patient information and record results into system using EMR system. Maintain confidentiality of all patient information to conform to HIPPA, internal and other regulatory standards. Handle the tasks of labeling the collection tubes with patients’ names, collection source and collection time. Monitor patients for reactions and verified sample quality. Track collected specimens by initialing, dating and noticing times of collection. Made donors very comfortable during the procedure which increased the number of donors steadily.
