Work Experience

Store Manager

Rite Aid - Lutherville-Timonium, MD

May 2007 to October 2018

As the Store Manager, i had anywhere fro 7 to 15 employees as well as the Pharmacists and 3 to 5 technicians. I was responsible for ope non and closing the store, daily. I created schedules, approved and edited payroll. Created manual orders for stock and special orders. Assisted at other store locations during remodels, relocations, resetting merchandise, as well as headed special projects when the in-store clinics were added to pre- existing locations. Was responsible for proctoring pharmacy technician exams. Was the District contact for fellow Managers needing Human Resources directives. Assisted in piloting new programs being implemented, i.e. shelf strips. Assisted in resetting other stores when they were behind. Assisted Asset Protection in cases of suspected theft. Appeared in court to testify, if required. Managed bank runs and counted down all monies to be sure everything was accounted for. Tracked sales and created "last minute" buys to increase sales and item counts. Trained many individuals who became managers of their owns stores. Recruited numerous individuals to work for our company; many of which are still there today! Created a welcoming atmosphere for shoppers by treating them like family! Just as i did with my employees. I was responsible for receiving merchandise from our warehouse delivery as well as from vendors. Responsible for answering alarm calls. Eas ultimately held responsible for the outcome of annual inventory results. I bonused regularly, for coming in under the planned loss numbers. I received the Employer of the Year Award from a local behavioral health services group for working closely with caseworkers to help create the best possible working environment for employees that were hired from their program. This resulted in helping these employees thrive in society! I received nominations from my employees as well as the caseworkers, for several years and am proud to say that my former employees and I are still in contact! As well, i was often called, by my prior DM, to either assist other managers by filling in when robberies had occurred, assisting with the closure of some locations, and helping to assist local law enforcement during other events where it was required.

Additional Information

In April and May of 2017, i suffered injuries as the result of palletized merchandise, collapsing on me, while in the course of duty. I have been out on Workers Compensation leave since July 2017. I did undergo surgery as a result of injuries received. I am still under the care of medical providers for other injuries received. My employment was terminated due to a page missing from the surgeon mandated report. I am currently waiting for my disability assessments and the final settlement hearing, in this matter, to be rescheduled. They were postponed due to covid-19 shut downs.
