ED MORERA’s BIO
Ed Morera has more than ** years of executive management experience both domestic and international. Previously, he held the position of President & CEO for both the Fresno Fire Department Credit Union and the Channel Islands Federal Credit Union, which was (formerly the City of Oxnard, and St. John’s Hospital Federal Credit Union) where he had been challenged to plan and orchestrate an aggressive “Strategic Re-Engineering Initiative”. Ed engineered the merger integration with the Channel Islands FCU and Western Federal Credit Union, enhancing WFCU’s vision for expansion within Ventura County.
In addition; his career path has provided the much-enjoyed opportunity to work for one of Wall Street’s largest Mergers & Acquisition Investment Banking firms as well as two of the top ten banks in the U.S. As Treasurer and Chief Investment Officer for both California Federal Bank, where he was responsible for the day-to-day management of the accounting, finance, treasury, operations, marketing and corporate banking divisions. Including an entire branch system, consisting of well over 225, account executive sales and marketing staffs that were responsible for raising funds, by utilizing the numerous avenues available within the financial services industry.
As an Senior Vice President of First Interstate Capital Markets Global Finance Division (London, New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo and Latin America), where he was responsible for the management of five direct reports and well over 175 plus employees. Ed oversaw the banks’ entire worldwide multiple investment financing programs that exceeded well over $100 billion dollars, in compliance with the agencies of the U.S. Government. Ed has extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in pricing, rating and issuance of Municipal Bond debt securities, including short and long term Corporate Debt financing.
In association with First Interstate Bank, he further demonstrated his skills, when he negotiated, created and implemented an agreement with the State of Arkansas... as point person with the issuance of multiple State & County Municipal Bonds, totaling over $150 Million dollars, in partnership with the state's relationship bank, Twin City National Bank. Similar accounts were then established with the State of Kansas, West Virginia and Tennessee, for a combined total of well over $450 Million dollars. He was credited for conceiving and creating a flexible and reactive (or proactive) fund-raising department with an emphasis on customer relationship management (CRM)…that adjusted the department’s fund raising strategies efficiently in response to the changes in the economy.
Ed conceived and introduced the development and management of a Central Fund-Raising Desk (Money Desk) for both California Federal Bank and Fidelity Federal Bank’s, by incorporating and utilizing designated account executive staff members that were each responsible for raising funds within their individual assigned geographic regions or communities. He directed the implementation of new financial management software program, through which the bank’s financial funding transactions were managed in harmony with the management reporting and classification of risk performance reports.
Offering a rare blend of creative and financial operational strengths, Ed Morera’s domestic and international experience was further enhanced with the challenge to plan and orchestrate Wall Street’s first Emerging Markets fund raising sales consortiums within the international financial community. He met with representatives from all major firms of European, Latin American and Asian countries to sell concept and gather support for the effort and to this date, the sector of the Emerging Markets, has an average aggregate amount of well over $2.5 trillion dollars annually in financial funding activities.

Ed was honored by the executive committee of Wall Street's Global Funding Authority, the PSA's Bond Market-Municipal Bond Finance Association in October 1996, when he was inducted into their International Funding Committee. In association with First Interstate Bank, he navigated the process for a successful placement of a $300 Million dollar IPO (Initial Public Offering).
Ed Morera’s exceptional track record of business improvement and accomplishments is based on his philosophy of total enterprise “team player” engagement. He is a “people’s person” with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and thus would like to make it a better place for all to work in a team environment, which will eventually enhance the overall performance of the organization’s objectives. He is known for his ability to quickly identify and diagnose finance and operational growth impediments that translates to an organization’s bottom-line results.
Ed received his BA from the City University of New York, Queens College, in Business Administration. In addition, he has strong computer skills and is proficient in Spanish and conversational Italian. He is a member of a number of organizations that represent his commitment to the areas of finance, accounting, financial services, and operations management both domestic & international. He is actively involved with the Padre Serra Parish in Camarillo, Meals on Wheels, Shop Ahoy and Boy Scouting, as Scoutmaster for Troop 262 in Camarillo.
