Concentra- Northlake, Drug Screen Lab Technician

Charlotte, NC

October 2021 to March 2022

•Phone Skills: Being able to keep in contact with Lab facilities when drug screens have not gone through the system, and the Lab needs more information to pass the drug screen through for processing as well as paper work that needs to be done. Keeping in contact with IT when systems go down for drug screens

•Multi- Computer Systems (Multi-Tasking): When proceeding to do drug screens we had to us two different computer systems depending the company and what system they wanted to use (the drug screen paper would state this). Then when getting drug screens done we had 2-3 systems that needed to be checked daily, to make sure that the drug screens for the day where sent to the right place and completed for that day

•Customer Service: In my position as a Lab Technician customer service is the most important thing to not only have but also to know. This is a skill gained and that you already need to have in this field. You need to know how to held the hard clients as well as the ones that are nice too. This might be an urgent care but the client is more important then the speed of the job at hand. Always, have a smile

•Urine Sampling: For this process I have the client provide a urine sample, I than package the sample up to be sent to one of the many Labs in the greater Charlotte area.

•Types of Urine Samples: There are 2 types of urine samples this can either be DOT ( meaning they are Federal collections) or they are NON-DOT ( meaning they are Non Federal) this process depends on the company what test they want to have run on the client, and for what reason ( random, pre-employment, etc...), and what position the client holds in the company

•BATs ( Breath Alcohol Tests): These are typically done on carbon copy papers this test can be for both DOT or NON- DOT employment or a reasonable suspension Test for a company. For this test you have to know what the clients position is in the company and what reason they are there for as well ( random, pre-employment, etc ). You also have to know how to work the breath alcohol machine which takes you through a series of steps to complete the test

•Hair Collects: These test are always the most interesting to do. As a Lab Technician we go through 2 Labs for hair collects. Each lab has it's own kit inside to take the hair sample. We can only take hair in 7 places not the 8th. These labs give the owner of the company a deeper look into the hair follicles of the client to get a better result off of the drug test taken

Letter of Recommandation

June 21, 2022

To whom it may concern:

It gives me great pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Candice Wilkins. Candice has been the In-Home Healthcare Giver for my mother for a little over a year now.

During this time, she has spent time making my mother feel more comfortable and assisting her with daily needs. Traveling is an important part of working as a caregiver and they must possess strong time management skills. Candice has spent three or more hours working with my mother every day and her schedule requires that she manage her time effectively.

Candice has also assisted with running errands, composing letters and spreadsheets of her daily and weekly duties. She is very organized, perceptive, and meticulous. My mother is a Heart Patient and must take heart medication daily. Candice not ever missed making sure that this has been done.

As part of being an In-Home Healthcare Giver, Candice has remained up to date on laws that governed what she could and could not do. She also maintained a positive and upbeat attitude that helps my mother feel more relaxed and comfortable.

It is my opinion that Candice will be a welcomed asset to any Company.

Sincerely,

Darlene Brown
