Segen Solar (Pty) Ltd

Position: Warehouse Logistics Coordinator 2021- present SegenSolar Pty is a South African subsidiary of the UK’s largest Photovoltaic distributor Segen Ltd, with offices and warehousing in Johannesburg and Cape Town and operate out of Germany under SegenSolar GmbH, selling and distributing a large range of solar PV products to installers and resellers nationally. Is a technology driven business so use of its own in-house systems and data reporting is paramount.

Position Statement

The Warehouse Logistics Coordinator (WLC) is responsible for the day to day running of all the outsourced warehouse operations, through ensuring that inbound, inventory and outbound activities are conducted in alignment with all the Segen Solar procedures and process. The WLC is also responsible for the reporting of key KPI and activities which will be used to invoice.

The WLC will be working closely management for outsourced warehouse, internal Segen Solar stakeholders and the logistics and Stock location manager.

WAREHOUSE LOGISTICS COORDINATOR TASKS

• Prepare and review monthly KPI reports for all outsourced warehouses

• Conduct site visits at least twice a year to all outsourced warehouse

• Prepare all inbound, outbound and storage data for invoicing weekly and monthly for outsourced warehouses.

• Ensure that all purchase orders are booked in and put away timeously, in accordance with the goods in process

• Ensure that all orders are picked according to their priority in all outsourced warehouses

• Ensure that all orders are shipped in line with the dispatch date

• Use the production line to manage warehousing activities

• Support outsourced warehouse staff with Segen Solar system through regular training

• Create and allocate new stock locations (Bin and Sub-location) using inhouse WMS (warehouse management system)

• Ensure that sub-locations are always reflective of physical stock locations.

• Review all quality logs and notes raised by outsourced warehouse and ensuring that they are resolved.

• Ensuring that all stock adjustments are investigated, approved, and adjusted to ensure no impact is caused to the customer. Is this for satellite warehouses only.

• leases with the stock controller of the outsourced warehouse and making sure cycles counts are carried out in line with the stock count procedure

• Review and optimise bin locations in outsourced warehouses

• Keep on implementing improvements to ensure miss picks and shortages are kept at a minimal

• Following up on customer collections issues and informing OP when orders have not been collected

• Keep track of individuals with access to the Segen Solar WMS. Clarity

• Advise Vessensa of any new staff member (outsourced) which need access on the Segen Solar System

• Resolve all allocation mismatches before escalation to the IT team. Is this for satellite warehouses only?

• Attend to any adhoc duties assigned by Logistics Manager.

• Cheering and leading the monthly meetings with the warehouse supervisors regarding challenges faced during operation to give feedback and analyse with the Logistics and Stock Locations Manager. Segen Solar (Pty) Ltd

Position: Logistics Assistant 2019- 2021

LOGISTICS ASSISTANT TASKS

• Organizing and managing off-site stock transfers between warehouses/storage facilities.

• Communication with the stock control team leader and warehouse manager regarding inbound stock.

• Dealing with any delivery issues arising to ensure customers are impacted as little as possible, always recording using Quality Logs and feedback to the Logistics and Stock Locations Manager to evaluate.

• Arranging dedicated deliveries and dealing with timed delivery requests and other unusual delivery requirements.

• Dealing with all damage investigations.

• Arranging transport collection for un-wanted/damaged/faulty returns (reverse logistics).

• Checking transport invoices.

• Management of our logistics partners, including monthly meeting reviews.

• Continually review transport suppliers’ services and identify service level issues or improvements to better assist the business and customers.

• Collating best prices from transport providers for price on application and outside of SA deliveries.

• Liaise with morning and afternoon warehouse picking team leaders regarding issues with shipments.

• Notify the sales and OP teams of delays to shipments so customers can be notified.
