2009 Certified well integrity specialist (Chevron-Houston approved Well Integrity Study), to control /eliminating well integrity failures, to stop casing failures and reducing ESP fishing jobs in high potential producers. A. Lifting and Natural flowing KOC Reservoirs ( 2019-) 2020 5

Special Studies were executed to review wells performance, of different reservoirs to enhancing wells daily production, achieving ESP target run life and to maximizing profits. The studies focus on examine the repeated problem, resulting premature failures. to know the root causes and set applicable corrective actions, follow up implementation and re-evaluate results. I. Initiated Modified HST design.

• Applied this technique for the first time in WJO.

• Resulted in improving PIP and pumping potential, enhancing ESP run life, increasing daily production, and controlling operating cost, after applying this successful technique.

• Received appreciation from TEXACO SAT for my problem-solving mindset, initiative, and excellence in execution.

II. Initiated a Costless Plan to Achieving ESP TRL.

• Initiated practice of accommodating artificial lifting strings in new drilling wells, rather than conventional natural flowing completion strings. This prevented creation of additional pressure losses, thus reducing NPT and operating cost.

• Minimized negative impacts of setting ESP on the random PSD, with a zero-dollar correction action cost. The effective benefits are enormous, till the last day of the reservoir/wells run life. III. Well Integrity Surveillance and Proactive Preventive Maintenance Well integrity failures trending can be indicated by number of experiencing casing leaks. Casing leaks is increasing with time due continuous changing of reservoir pressure, inflow fluid properties, increasing corrosive flow components H2s, Co2, resulting metal losses progressing and cement deterioration. Number of wells exercised casing leaks are ~ 9, ~20, and ~33 wells in 2015, 2016 and 2017 in sequence. Most of these wells got remediated by conventional remediation technique, which is not working well in many cases, ended to higher potential well integrity failures and consequently well Shut-in completed with kill string. .

• To improving this status, “Well Integrity Surveillance and Proactive Preventive Maintenance” was recommended to ensure wells operating under healthy down hole conditions, achieving consistent run life, protecting company assets (well integrities), and maximizing investment return. One of the major threats to our down-hole assets, is well integrity failures (due to deteriorated cement, internal and/or external sever corrosion, metal loss, scale formation, too low influx, increasing corrosive free Gas, increasing deferential pressure on weak casing sections…).

• However, integrity surveillance and preventive permanent maintenance solution are highly recommended to ensure that wells remain viable in different fields with long lifecycle, secured continuous production and improving fields HSE. This also to implement standardized company well integrity management (WIM).

IV. ESP Failures Analyze to Achieving TRL and improving Pumping Potential 6

Successful ESP installations, achieving target run life (TRL) have long identified that, a proven failure tracking and professional analyzing system DIFA (Dismantle Inspection Failure Analysis) in place, to upgrading the reliability of ESP equipment are the keys to reducing ESP failures rates, achieving average target run life (TRL). ESP well surveillance and DIFA database system were set to tracking unit failures while unit running/in service. The result is a system that is expected to achieve TRL, eliminate premature failures, control unplanned workovers, reduce nonproductive time (NPT) and optimize uptime with boosted monitoring.

1. While 11 years working with Chevron Kuwait, I been selected/assigned to the special tasks/projects, where conventional solutions cannot work, or have unaccepted results. 2 JO Well Preservation team Lead ;(assigned on JO-well preservation project). WJO started the Well Preservation project in May 2015, almost immediately after the start of field shutdown. To extend the Preservation activity to all the producers and w. injection wells across other assets, Well Preservation team was formed, comprising representatives from different divisions like Asset Integrity, Asset management teams, Work-over division and the EPDM team. The initial target, agreed by the team members was to treat at least 80% of the allocated WJO production within a year. This target was successfully achieved in time. In order to control the data of the WP project, WP project performance & progress and to update JO-management on project achievement, initiated well preservation categories and programs, to record updated WP statistics (BI-EPDM & JO-Rigless application). All recommended application done by EPDM software team. The results of this project are:

Protecting JO down hole assets, wells down hole integrity.

Securing the projected start up daily production rate.

Well Preservation Cost Control, achieving OPEX cost reduction, saving over than 63% of the project cost, matching with the shut-down reduction budget.

WO-Rig & Rigless WP-Jobs:

Design and submit WP programs to cover the ongoing workover operation and discuss program procedures with the WO-Supervisor for cost control.

Perform Bi-Weekly WP-team meeting:

in order to improve WP-project performance, cost control, better protection of wells down hole integrity, better use of the JO limited resources, and improved project results.

3 Performing successful WSO in producers, of multi layers reservoirs cased and open hole, water injection pressure maintenance reservoirs.

4 WO, WS, formation testing and completion program. Operating cost control looking for areas need improvements, to enhancing well integrity run life, maximizing profits, cost optimization and achieving better results.

5 Improving pumping and flowing potentials, especially in the side-tracking wells as well as new drill wells, by review and following wells in drilling stage and completion implementation.

WJO (Chevron SAC&KGOC) duties & Achievement 2006-2017 7

6 Implemented new technique in remediate casing leaks. Approved 2007 by (Drilling & WO & AMT teams) in charge, application since then, controlling fishing jobs in producers, injectors and water disposal wells, reducing operating cost and saving Rig time for W/S and reservoir development optimization work. Set preventive maintenance plan for currently running ESP wells (MOC # 18, dated 22-Mar-09) . 7 Pro-Active well integrity Maintenance: Perform required remedial job for production casing before getting ESP string stuck, approved on 2009 by WO & AMT and was being running and results evaluated. Over than 8 wells evaluated and around 10 wells were on Rigs schedule. 8 ESP fishing jobs control, to save wells, reduce differed oil and to reduce/eliminate Rigs days on fishing jobs.

9 Assigned to share QRI team, work & discussion (AMT member in QRI WJO Kuwait), improving wells inflow and pumping potential.

10 Working with reservoir management and Geology teams, setting well surveillance programs for each reservoir, providing technical/engineering support while implementation. 11 Improve well surveillance in multi-Layers w. injection reservoir. 12 Well Integrity Specialist, certified by Chevron Houston & SAC & KGOC. Awards: Due to great values of this project, I received “Reservoir Management Excellence Awards, for outstanding contribution to Reservoir Management. Humma Infill Drilling and Pressurized Injection Project”. Also, joint Operation (KGOC-SAC), appreciated the excellent values of this project, and I got spot bonus on 10-March, 2015. 18 An innovative re-completion plan utilizing a dual completion system which maintained the redundancy of the dump flood capability: Most importantly, I completely re-evaluated the project plan, of the original completion design and provided an innovative re-completion plan utilizing a dual completion system which maintained the redundancy of the dump flood capability, minimized the complexity, cost and time required for the workover program, eliminated potential injection downtime and eliminated the need for a second water source well. These innovative approaches saved the WJO in excess of $5 mm USD and improved the project performance potential over the original design. This successful pressure maintenance dual system arrested HUM-reservoir continuous pressure dropping and increased daily wells production rate (double production within one year), without water breakthrough, which indicate & reflect the real success value of this project. 19 Adequate Reservoir Pressure Maint, using Dual Closed System: This new closed dual power injection system that hasn’t been tried in Kuwait (may be worldwide), we are able to inject adequate injection rate to maintain reservoir pressure over bubble point pressure, without using a power injection plant that cost millions of dollars. The system can be diverted from PMP to dump flooding by Rig less operation, within hours, providing continues reservoir pressure maintenance while water supply well under Rig operation (well service & WO), and or Rig engaged on other jobs. The dual injection completion provided Zubair water aquifer available in all injectors, to be utilized, whenever needed. 20 Reservoir Pressure Maint. While WJO Shut-down: The dual injection system enables Reservoir management to restore dumping, to improve low pressure area while JO-fields shut- down, improving offsets producer reservoir pressure. 21 Modified Casing design profile in the new drill wells. This modification approved on 2007 by (Drilling & WO & AMT formed team), and now is applied on all WJO New Drill wells program as per MOC # 011, dated 12 Feb-2009. 22 Modified cementing program in the New Drill wells. Approved on 2008 by (Drilling & WO & AMT team), now it is applied on the new drill wells program, all WJO reservoirs.

23 Well Surveillance, Saturation Monitoring for horizontal producers, in W. injection reservoir: Effective member in bringing this application applicable for the wells down hole condition, preparing program for running and POOH PakLatch orientation system for implementing surveillance program and re-run back to have wells back on line. This system run for the first time in WJO for mentoring sweep efficiency, oil & water saturation in (Vertical Saturation Monitoring), in horizontal producers.

24 Also, I did modify the mandrel of this system with Weatherford system designer to have it fit/appropriate to WJO wells down hole condition.

25 Improving flowing and pumping potential: Modified HST directional survey programs to set ESP on the top pay (1000’ deeper than KOP). First application done in WJO. DLS against 9

the window in the directional survey plan/ drilling program was 12 degree, which can’t allow setting the pump deeper than KOP depth.

26 Remarkable increase in Reservoir Production: Double production of the assigned reservoir. The remarkable daily oil production increase, achieved by cooperative team work within one year, without increasing WC %.

2006-2009 Conducted study on JO-ESP wells. Set recommendation to improve well integrity run life, as well as ESP run Life. The study certified by Chevron Houston, and it is on charge since then. This study selected as best practice in ESP Oil wells Design and apply well integrity evaluation program, evaluating reliability of well integrity, proven successful results on JO wells (Ratawi & SUG & SF & Humma and Arq). Set proactive remedial job programs, to protect wells DH integrity to stop/eliminate repeated exercised failures and elongate ESP & wells run life. This program applied on too old casing as well as new drill wells. This application resulted in Zero ESP fishing, control operating cost and saving more than 8 producers (Ratawi -WAMT), sidetracking coast 7,400 MKD/year and utilize rigs to improve Jo-reservoirs recovery and achieve monthly production target. Control differed oil related to well integrity failures and fishing jobs. Successful well integrity 10

evaluation, design and apply applicable surveillance program, proven successful results for over than 150 wells, ESP producer & w. injection wells: 30 OPEX & CAPEX and Operating Cost control (saving): Assigned to set AMT OPEX annual budget and to control its expenditure on daily and monthly bases. In the light of the AMT plans, set next year OPEX budget, and controlling operating cost, improving areas of opportunities, working on workover cost optimization, as well as improving assets value and wells runs life.
