Geographic Specialist and Cartographic Technician

Researched and processed local municipal and county boundary changes as part of the annual Boundary and Annexation Survey and Boundary Quality Assessment. Use of ArcGIS and other mapping software to establish updated and accurate jurisdictional boundaries, necessary for accurate census counts.

City of Louisville / Metro Government, April 1985 – September, 2016

Created and edited static maps, utilizing ESRI Shape Files and GDBs, for Economic Development Department. This involved extensive use of Jefferson County parcel data, and other numerous planning layers. Notably, I created a layer derived from county parcel data, of all government owned properties in Jefferson County, consisting of approximately 9,100 features. Subsequent work for the Department of Information Technology, starting in April, 2013.

Frequent export of GIS data into DBF/ Excel compatible tables.

Frequent editing of GIS layers and attribute data.

Creation of interactive web maps utilizing ArcGIS Online

Neighborhood Planning Consultant, Dept. of Neighborhoods, 1988-1995

Monitored zoning cases involving the Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Adjustment, providing technical consultation to neighborhood organizations and communications with respective city council representative.

Regularly attended neighborhood meetings, serving as liaison between City and neighborhood groups.

Monitored development of neighborhood plans by consultants, ensuring adherence to city-established protocols.
