In the past few years, I have worked predominantly as a payroll coordinator for a long-term care pediatric facility. In that time, many unfortunate events have happened in our country that led the organization to form a Diversity Initiative group. I helped implement the group and write the charter, create the format for our monthly discussions with participants, select topics based on interests, held informational and fun activities, help reinitiate the hair program, sent out monthly informative emails to employees, created surveys to help with employee engagement, listened to staff and take their concerns to management, and more. I also co-led our organizations recycling program named the “The Green Team”. We raised funds to pay for a water bottle filler station, adapted the building to be more eco-friendly, started a website employees can access to find local recycling information, and co-ran a buy nothing company Facebook page to name a few examples of what I help accomplish.

In order to perform all jobs, I had to be proficient in critical thinking, have organizational skills, communicate effectively, be dependable, open-minded, able to adapt, and work in a team. As well as being able to use Microsoft Office platforms, and compile data & analytics when needed.

Because I worked in a long-term care facility for medically fragile and special needs children, I understand more than most the importance of including mental health, neurodiverse, and disability populations in the conversation when they are often missed in the discussions. I also had to do research on the recent addition to the Resident Bill of Rights in NJ for LGBTQIA+ population, which lead me to be asked to speak about the topic in a virtual event outside of work as an ally.

I have a true passion for knowledge, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. This is a field that is constantly evolving and progressing, and you need to find someone who is willing to stay current and up to date on the topics that effect our society. I know I am more than capable to do that and other tasks as they are given to me. Thank you for your time.
