Dear Mr/Mrs,

My name is Emilie Dahmen, I’m ** years old (turning 18 in September) and I’m almost done with my bilingual IB high school with classical education (‘gymnasium in Dutch’) and French.

When I was younger, I used to live in New York for a couple of years and now I’m living close to The Hague, in the Netherlands. My life is all about travelling, doing sports, being social and going to school right now. Within my whole life, me and my family have spent most of our summers and winter holidays in the mountains (mostly in Austria), hiking and skiing, which I absolutely love doing. Two years ago, I have been lucky to go on an exchange to Cape Town, South Africa, for six weeks, which was part of my IB program at school.

Nowadays, I go to the gym and play tennis 6 days a week and work in a restaurant as waitress. Before, I’ve worked for a well-known Dutch hotel group as waitress too. In the gym, I follow lessons from the worldwide program Les Mills (which I would love to teach too) and do weight/cardiovascular training. Beside these activities, I love hanging out with my friends and family and being social.

The next coming period, I’m going to look at the study course I want to follow after my gap year. I’m doubting to do anything related to exercise/movement or hotel/management school. Also, the next few months, I’m going to follow a sports instructor course. For part of my gap year (preferably during the months January-March), I would love to travel to your country and work hard in your hotel. I would prefer to work in the gym/health club and if possible in combination with serving in a restaurant.

Hopefully I can contribute to your company and I would love to stay and work with you for a month or two.
