Hertz Dollar Thrifty September 2006 – September 2013

Note: The following bulleted information describes my responsibilities as a business analyst employee at Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group (DTG). In 2012, Hertz purchased DTG, retaining the Tulsa office. I then became a business analyst for Hertz, continuing to perform the same responsibilities as those I performed for DTG.

Researched, developed, and documented business requirements for technology solutions for the Hertz DTG business domains (rental, fleet, rate and reservation, human relations and back office, infrastructure, and finance).

Using SIPOC methodology, conducted elicitation sessions (JAD-like sessions) with supervisors and SMEs to capture the suppliers, inputs, processes (tasks), outputs, and customers (recipients) of the major business functions of the Fleet domain. This was part of a year-long project to document the functionality required for a new Fleet Order and Maintenance System. The Hertz acquisition ended the project before a new system was written or purchased.

Based on many user interviews, I abstracted (re-engineered) the functionality of a critical security system supported by Microsoft Access database, forms, modules, and queries into business requirements aimed at defining a replacement system supported by an SQL database and a Web user interface.

oDeliverables:

-Current state context diagram, showing interfacing systems and data flowing between them and applications.

-Detailed narrative of each application module, each of which was to be the basis for functional requirements for the new application.

oSpearheaded the identification of approximately 3000 Access databases on the DTG Network and the nature of the data on each—age, last update, and retention requirements—as part of the DTG-Hertz data migration initiative.

oCreated a PowerPoint catalog of all DTG services, L1 through L3 detail, for each domain.
