Resume:

To Whom It May Concern:

I, Bobby E. Sheffield, Sr., am applying in confidence to your organization for the position of President/CEO.

I am academically qualified for this position because I possess a Bachelor of Arts degree from California Baptist University in Psychology. I also possess a Master of Science degree from Loma Linda University in Psychology, and I have been awarded a post-graduate degree (Ph.D.) in Counseling Psychology. It is because of these extensive academic qualifications in the human service field that I feel confident in making my opening statement.

These qualifications have prepared me to successfully manage personnel and implement a variety of service-oriented programs for mid to large corporations. I have excellent verbal and written skills which I hope you will give me the opportunity to prove in an interview.

My current employment as well as other employments mentioned on my resume has afforded me a wealth of experience in a variety of multicultural service-oriented capacities. I am not bilingual, but I have found that often one can speak the language, but not have a grasp or full understanding of that culture.

In the past 20-plus years, I have made a conscious effort to understand and appreciate the dominant cultures I work with and serve. This is an asset, which I feel adequately prepares and qualifies me as President/CEO.

Over the years working as a Vice President, Senior Executive, Administrator, Director/Trainer in the Non-Profit Sector, and a Floor Manager in the debt/student loan services field, I have had to train staff and initiate programs, which meant establishing office policies and procedures as well as networking and publicizing the services in the community. To better serve the communities that I serve, I am active in various communities’ Board of Directors, such as the National Council on Alcohol and Drug Dependency, Los Angeles (NCADD, LA) and the Violence Prevention Coalition of Los Angeles County (VPC, LA-CO) to name a few. Through these avenues, I have been able to effect significant change in the communities I serve.

Once again, I would like to reiterate that I am the best candidate for the position of President/CEO.

I have a myriad of related experiences and I am academically qualified. I feel I would be an asset to your organization. I will call in a few days to arrange an interview at a convenient time for you. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Bobby E. Sheffield,
