Good morning,

We wanted to send a quick update on our field trip.

1)Our ABQ Zoo Field Trip is scheduled for today.

2)Students will attend their morning pullout (to ensure all students have time to arrive at school). teachers will input attendance and ensure all required medical supplies are picked up from the nurse’s office.

3)Departure: We will leave Longfellow around 10:15. Together we will walk up Edith to Central. From there we will take the FREE city bus to 10th Street. From 10th we walk to the Zoo.

4)Arrival: We are a scheduled to arrive to the Zoo between 10:45-11:00. Chaperones are welcome to walk with us or meet us at the Zoo.

5)Zoo Scavenger Hunt: Upon entry, students will be divided in to groups and explore the Park while working on their Scavenger Hunt.

6)Lunch: 12:30-1:00 @ grassy area in front of the Duck Pond/Stage. *Everyone needs to bring a lunch. A few have been ordered from the cafeteria.

7)Scavenger Hunt Continued after lunch.

8)Departure: 2:00 we will gather at the entrance to take a headcount before starting to walk back to Longfellow.

9)Return: Parents who chaperone may sign-out their child from the teacher. We plan to arrive back at school between 2:45 and 3:00.

Students are encouraged to bring a small bag to carry their lunch, water bottles, camera/phone, sunscreen, or a hat. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes. We will be walking a lot. We haven’t been on a field trip in years and we’re excited to enjoy this with our 5th graders.
