October 1984-July1997 Pennzoil Sulfur Company Power Plant Operator

My duties included a working Knowledge Water Treatment analyze, Compressor Operations, Boiler Operations, Gas-Steam Turbine Operations, Reverse Osmosis Operations and Control Room Operations. Selected as Employee Safety Committee Chairman for the years of 1995-1997

October 1999-February2000 Reeves County Detention Center, Pecos, TX Correctional Officer

My duties included security and supervision of inmates, provided security during escorted trips for inmates to and from facility, and conducted inmate accountability through accurate count and census checks. Recognized as Officer of the Month for February 2000.and also recognized as Officer of the Year 2000.

March 2000-July2004 Reeves County Detention Center, Pecos, TX Operational Lieutenant

My duties consisted of the Supervision of 65 staff members, 2000 inmates and for the orderly running of the institution during my tour of duty. Responsible for performing quarterly security audits as assigned. Chosen as Squad leader for the SERT and DC Teams also Instructed during annual training, specializing in Emergency Planning and Inmate accountability.

August 2004-Feruary 2005 Odessa Detention Center, Odessa, TX Correctional Officer

My duties consisted of maintaining custody and control of inmates. Monitoring inmate activities and enforcing security department policies and procedures.Ensured prompt and appropriate assistance to inmate in the event of injury, illness and emotional trauma. Prepared reports and maintained daily as required. Initiated disciplinary reports.Conducted shakedowns for contraband materials. Promoted facility cleanliness and reported needs for maintenance and/or repairs. Served as member of special response team.

March 2005-July 2007 Odessa Detention Center, Odessa, TX Lieutenant/Chief of Security

Major duties included overseeing all supervisory functions in the facility as it pertained to the security and administrative control of the facility. Managed, planned, organized and directed the security of the facility. Reported directly to the Assistant Warden.Fostered a team effort among correctional officers and provided support, motivation, training and assistance as needed.Recognized as Supervisor of the Year for the years of 2005 & 2007.Also recipient of Warden Award for outstanding service for the year of 2005.

July 2007-June 2009 Odessa Detention Center, Odessa, TX Captain/Chief of Security

Major duties were to perform advanced correctional supervisory and administrative duties in the direction of staff and offenders. Investigated alleged misconduct on the part of staff and/or offenders. Made weekly inspections and provided monthly reports of all security, safety and sanitation levels of the facility, in accordance with facility policy. Worked under limited direction with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Worked as Duty Warden in the absence of the Warden and Assistant Warden.Recognized as Supervisor of the Year for the year 2008.Also selected to attend CEC’S first Effective Leadership Training class.

Major duties included overseeing and monitoring staff effectiveness and conduct physical inspections of facility to assure policies and procedures are being followed. Gather information for reports or records, review reports, forms and other documentation for accuracy and completeness, check mathematical computation, tabulation, statistical data for accuracy. Available to act as Facility Warden when so designated and responds on a 24-hour, 7-day basis to significant unusual occurrences. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Facility Administrator.

July 2011- January 2017 ECCC and ODC, Odessa, TX Warden
