(Vinventions) Job Summary: Quality and Development Labs Manager (dual role) 2016 – 2017

Manage departmental activities and special projects. Provide day-to-day direction to staff involved in product testing and process auditing (Quality) and in validation and verification testing of developmental product (Development). Supervise staff in accordance with company policies and procedures. Assist in development and execution of department operating budgets.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

A.Quality

Manage quality activities and special projects to ensure quality and timetables are met by prioritizing and assigning work for product testing.

Perform product testing as needed.

Recommend, create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures

Ensure that the customer receives a Certificate of Analysis in a timely fashion with reliable product performance information

Develops and oversees daily process audits.

Responsible for ensuring the quality of incoming raw materials and out-going final product.

Support and assist Product Operations efforts to improve quality performance in all areas of the production process (i.e. Attend meetings, dispositioning of product, address quality concerns and questions)

Champion safety as a key priority for every associate, as well as being alert to and reporting safety violations

Evaluate department processes. Recommend and coordinate needed changes based on process efficiency

Develop and establish testing protocols and ensure that test results are repeatable and accurate.

Direct training and direct technicians on the use of the test equipment and reasoning for why tests are performed and interpretation of test results.

Responsible for management of staff scheduling to include: work assignments, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, back up for absent employees, and monitoring and approval of weekly time cards.

Provide ongoing coaching and conduct performance reviews for all direct reports

Calibration Assurance monitoring and overseeing out sourcing, and return of all measurement equipment used in the entire facility to ensure tolerance control; to maintain ISO standards.

B.Development (Vinventions)

Job responsibilities same as below; with the addition of Quality responsibilities.

Development Lab Supervisor (2006 – 2016)

Manage development lab activities and special projects to ensure quality and timetables are met by prioritizing, assigning work for validation, and verification testing.

Perform validation and verification testing as needed.

Perform data analysis, interpret and, report test results using statistical techniques; communicating data to relevant parties.

Evaluate department processes. Recommend and coordinate needed changes based on process efficiency.

Calibration of all lab equipment, ensuring equipment is working properly; troubleshooting of instrumentation as problems arise.

Create and establish testing protocols and ensure that test results are repeatable and accurate.

Direct training, or trains technicians on the use of the lab equipment and reasoning for why tests are performed and interpretation of test results.

Transfer new product specifications to QA and production. Coordinate special testing requested by operations.

Monitor, order, and purchase work supplies, lab equipment, and testing supplies, i.e. large quantities of wine, vodka, instrons, microscopes, etc.

Responsible for management of staff scheduling to include: work assignments, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, back up for absent employees, and monitoring and approval of weekly time cards.

Extrusion QA Technician (1999- 2001) Vinventions

Responsibilities; monitor production, collect samples from production lines and perform a battery of test to ensure product met required specifications of the customer.

Maintained QA lab when supervisor resigned abruptly; acting supervisor for approximately six months. Trained new QA supervisor.

Research and Development Lab Technician (2001- 2003) Vinventions

Performed verification and validation testing of prototype products, before product could be manufactured as production.

Performed verification and validation testing, supported research and development; trained interns and new personnel.

Performed demonstrations of test methods for visiting customers.

Instrumental in creating, writing and establishing Quality and Research / Development test methods at the startup of Vinventions.
