DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :-

• Arrive in time and takes handover of patient bed to bed.

• Carry out assigned job given by ward in – charge / nursing

superintendent / superiors.

• Plan and provide the basic care according to the priority needs of the

patients.

• Prepare and take round with doctor.

• Carry out instructions Doctor’s appropriately.

• Maintain personal hygiene of patient to prevent infection.

• Give medicine and injection in correct procedure E.g. Transfusion,

giving IV line etc.

• Take responsibility of admission and discharge of the patient.

• Maintain interpersonal relationship with staff, patients, families and

community.

ASSESSMENT OF ASIGNED PATIENT:-

• Making and admission assessment on each patient .

• Frequents assessment throughout the shift to see current and to

detect change in condition.

PLANS AND PATIENT CARE :-

• Initials and updates the nursing care plan.

• Contributes the discharge planning process.

• Participate in team conference .

IMPLEMENTNS PATIENT CARE BY PERFORMING NURSING FUNCTIONS AS

INDICATED BY PATIENTS NEEDS INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE

FOLLOWING :

• Personal

• Patient and family teaching.

• Medication administration.

• Intravenous therapy.

• Specific procedure and treatment as ordered by physicians ( Ensure

that all orders are carried out ).

• Emotional support of the patients and family.

• Evaluate patient care given and record.

• Report to the nurse and or formation’s concerning the patient’s

condition.

• Reaction to therapeutic measure and my significant incidents.

• Assist physicians when performing procedures, making ward round

any carrying out their orders.

• Assist non professional nursing staff in rendering care to assigned

patients.

• Supervises activities of team members and maintains responsibility for

all patients on the team.

• Overseas necessary paper work as indicated, including statistical

reports, commission reports.
