Job Description

We have a contract opportunity for a part-time (20-25 hours per week) Accounting Assistant who will primarily focus on purchase order and accounts payable processing. The role requires independent analytical thinking and the ability to escalate specific questions to the assigned Accountant.

The Accounting Assistant must be able to fulfill the following job duties:

·Review and process purchase orders for inclusion in accounts payable process.

·Assist in accounts payable process including scanning all completed accounts payable documents.

·Make bank deposits and assist in journal entry generation.

·Assist with compilation of back-up for account analysis and provide administrative support for the monthly and year end process including copying and data entry.

·Assist in cross-training for all purchase order and accounts payable processing systems.

·Assist with real estate taxes including printing maps, research, compiling spreadsheets and contacting the property appraiser and tax collector.

·Assist with responding to information requests from department heads and outside sources.

Requirements:

A High School diploma is required with focus on Accounting . One (1) or more years work experience in accounting administration are required. Must have high degree of organizational and interpersonal competencies. Must have ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
