Started as a laborer. Unloaded 100 lb. bags of ingredients. Drove Forklifts and narrow aisle lifts. Drove company trucks which at the time needed a PUC type 5 license. Implemented new equipment in warehouse material handling. Became warehouse supervisor and handled maintenance of facility. Became the first in the industry to switch over to 50 lb. bags of ingredients due to all the injuries both from workers and customers handling 100 lb. bags. Became of salesman of bakery equipment. Bun dividers, Mixers, Ovens and various types of bakery equipment. Also repaired and maintained equipment. Was one of the earliest companies to bring refrigeration to the Food establishments and florist shops. Was the first to bring in Bun dividers to the school system in the state. Designed company logo and company wording "First in Service"
"Since 1946". Went into sales and had various accounts in the bakery industry. Helped customers with formulations and trouble shooting. Did purchasing and negotiating flour price contracts. Handled all of the flour contracts and purchasing. Became the Vice President and created Company handbook and created and implemented sales commission formula. Handled the Food shows for the company and worked together with bakery technicians brought in to help customers. I also learned baking and baking science. Every year for the last 20 years plus I was in charge of our booths at the Hawaii Lodging, Hospitality and Foodservice Expo booths. Became President of company and made sure the accounts payable was in line and revamped accounts payables. Handled customer relations and contracts and company policies. Hired a HR company to oversee company policies and for drug testing and other HR duties. Directed new areas of marketing and sales. As President, my chief concern was employees, sales and managing the accounts and accounts receivables. Became Chief Executive officer. Bought and negotiated to buy Paradise Traders. I had a goal of our sales and the need for expansion. Family decided to sell company so I negotiated sale of Edsung to C&S Grocers a 31 billion dollar company at the time. Many of my ideas I have yet to have implemented which left me with a lot of future ambition to make a difference in the bakery and food industry.
